A little over 5 years ago, I got breast implants in order to feel more confident about myself. I knew almost immediately that I'd made a huge mistake but I wanted to give myself time to see if I could learn to love them. I developed cc on my right breast but it was tolerable but a bit uncomfortable and hard. I have enough breast tissue to hide it well. I planned on getting them removed but ended up getting pregnant and breastfeeding for 2.5 years. During that time, I ended up getting cc in my left breast but it was far worse than the right. The implant migrated up my chest and developed a "knuckle" at the top of it, which is very visible. I've been in pain every day since this happened. I've weaned my daughter and I'm ready to have my body back to myself. No more fake bags of plastic. I'm so ready to get this weight off my chest. Pun intended.

How was breastfeeding with a CC?

Honestly, it was fine. It was healing in a way because I was able to see my breasts differently when feeding my daughter. I love them for nourishing her for over two years. However, I do think my supply was effected by the cc. I was never able to pump very much milk at all but luckily, I never had to supplement with formula either.

Okay that's wonderful to hear! I have reaccurance of CC (second time) and to this point Im considering of explabting I've only had my implants for over a year from my first ba & revision. I'm also only 27 and I'd like to have kids in 2 years so very concerned about breastfeeding

I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to but the chances are definitely in your favor if you want to breastfeed. I hope you get everything figured out. Capsular contracture is such a horrible and frustrating experience. I'm sorry you are going through that. Good luck

What kind of implant did you have? Also, was it placed submuscular or subglandular?

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I actually just had a breast lift with augmentation last week and I already want the implants out. I’m worried how things will look with them out or if I’ll have to have another lift again. I have a follow-up appt with my doc next Wednesday so I can share my feelings with him then.

I have the same type of bump on the top of one breast (that has CC). Did you say this is the implant breaking through the capsule? Did this cause any complications during the removal or require a special procedure? My explant is scheduled for June 13, 2018.

It's almost go time!

With less than 24 hours to go, I'm feeling anxious and ready to get these toxic bags out of my body! The timing is perfect because my left breast has been aching like crazy this past week. The worst decision of my life is almost behind me. This time tomorrow, I'll be implant free and the healing can begin. Emotionally, physically and spiritually.

I just had mine removed 3 days ago and it’s the best decision I ever made. Good luck on your upcoming surgery!

Prayers.

I would love to have mine removed or significantly reduced. I've hated the last set put in after one saline implant busted. I just can't afford to face anything done at this time.

I'm so sorry. I understand how difficult that must be for you.
