My surgery is tomorrow and I'm hoping this is the right decision for my health. I want to be implant free because I'm a mom and want to be a good role model for my daughter. I want to show her how to be comfortable with what you are given. I'm also athletic and these globes cramp my style!;-) I'm also over worrying about rupture, needing surgery when I haven't planned for it, etc. plus I'm getting mammograms now. I want to be done with these things! Ready to move on into self acceptance!

Oh wow, surgery tomorrow!! I wish you all the best. Setting an example for my daughters is (yet another) consideration of mine for explanting. And yes, my globes also get in the way of activities! I haven't done push-ups in almost a year and a half!

Thanks for your kind wishes! I'll keep you posted and let you know how it goes!

I had the explant surgery in Feb 2015 after having implants for 33 years and it was very easy. Absolutely no problem, recovery was a breeze. I had become sick for the last 15-18 years with body aches, severe asthma, allergies, dizziness, and just overall unwell. I went to many physicians and no one could come up with any final diagnosis. I am so happy I removed the implants and I feel some better but a long way from normal again. I truly believe you are doing the right thing and best of luck tomorrow!!

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement! I'm definitely nervous!;-)

Wow sounds just like my journey. I've had three sets for a total of 34 years. I'm now 60 and very worried about how my once teeny breasts will look after an explanation I'm going to a consult tomorrow morning. It'll be interesting to hear what he has to say - probably try to talk me into more implants but a smaller size. I'm a 34 D. Used to be 34 AA. Worried about my health and tired of the pain. Wish me luck!

BeckyArie who are you using for surgeon?

Msbilder did you do it under locL or general anesthesia? I am up next for explant.....just trying to find more women who have gone to a surgeon in WA or Oregon (I am close).

Will do! I have been so inspired by other women's stories on here- they have given me the courage to move forward. I know I want to do it while I'm still relatively young and healthy, so I can heal well. You'll know what's right for you when the time comes! (I sound so calm and so sure...I'll check in tomorrow for a freak out, I'm sure!)

Good Iuck! Don't be too nervous. You definitely made the right decision for you and for your daughter. I will remove my implants in 2 weeks. I'm so excited. I was full of regrets the day of the surgery. I made such a huge mistake. I'm very athletic too. These implants poison my life. I feel bad physically and morally. My PS made a good job but I don't feel comfortable at all with these plastic globes inside my body. I wish you all the best.

Surgery done!

Had surgery today, and I'm tired, but feeling good. I can't wait to focus on healing, and learning to be patient with the process. Dr. Murphy said it can take 6 months to a year before I really see what my breasts will look like. Too tired and sore to take a peek yet. I had general anesthesia and have drains for about a week.

does it feel much different than when you were implanted? Less pressure? Hope you're doing well. :)

I feel very little pain compared to when I was implanted. They did give me meds in the hospital, so they cautioned that I might feel more uncomfortable as the meds wore off. Thanks for the well wishes! They are much appreciated!

Day 1 after surgery

I'm still feeling groggy( probably the pain meds). I'm not in too much pain, but feel the need to take it easy.

If you have drains, I'd recommend wearing a button down shirt, so you have easier access;-)

Thanks to everyone who has provided support. I will do the same . I'll proved pictures once I'm Barack enough to look!

Take time. I may not post pictures for a while after removal, who knows.were it up to me, i wouldnt even look at my breast for a month, which is undoable.

Happy healing again!
