Reviews you can trust, from real people like you.
How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

Did anyone have long-term numbness after implant placement?

I had immediate numbness after I woke from my surgery years ago, from the nipple down, both sides. It never resolved.
I've read that it can be caused by a compressed nerve (which can be fixed when the pressure is released, and implants are removed), or it is permanent from damage to the nerve.
Did anyone else have the same? What happened after your implants were removed, did the feeling come back?
I'm hopeful that sensation might return but not banking on it...

A few weeks away, any advice to prepare welcomed!

After reading reviews, here are my plans to aid healing. Please let me know if there is anything I can add to help this process ... :)

-Coconut oil to skin daily, starting now, and to continue after removal
-Hydration by drinking plenty of water
-Lots of fresh fruits and veggies
-Silicone scar strips for once incision is healed. (unless my skin really contracts my scar will probably be below my breasts, visible on my ribs)
-Seamless compression bra

Thank you for any input!

Consults done! Update with pics... Double bubble deformity when flexing in pics

I had 2 consults so far and have spoken with numerous ps on the phone. Many will not do local anesthesia only, but a handful will. I liked Dr Lee Daniel in Eugene the most. He agreed to do local anesthesia in his office, says I can go home wearing a band, no drains, no capsule removal needed, and I should heal quickly. I really liked how kind and personable he and his staff were. I felt very comfortable with him, he had a natural warmth and confidence. He listened to my concerns and answered all of my questions. By the time I left I wanted to book the procedure, but figured I should meet another PS or two. I have since met with 2 more but still feel most comfortableowith Dr Lee Daniel.

One of the places I went tried to talk me out of it because I had "perfect" results. The nurse kept asking "are you sure?" til the PS stopped her, reminding her that I've been wanting this for over a year now. That got me down for a while and I was starting to reconsider removing them. A week later I had to remind myself why I'm doing this... I'm doing this for me, who longs to be natural again, I want to be ME. I don't need to be "perfect" in other people's eyes because I am happy to be perfectly imperfect.

And now for pictures... I edited them for modesty sake, and posted in case they help another woman on here. All of your words and pictures have helped me tremendously. I didn't mention before the double bubble I get when flexing. But it is quite apparent in the pictures....check it out. I hope I will be laughing when this is all over at the pictures of my silly fake double bubble breasts.
