I've been struggling with my weight all my life .I weigh around 300 pounds now and I have sleep apnea and chronic pain. I have been able to follow most diets but always gain the weight back plus more. I need help. I tried to get a gastric bypass 10 years ago but didn't qualify....but now I did. I have weight loss classes scheduled to start in October abd figure once I meet the Bariatric team and jump through all the hoops, I should have surgery scheduled for around the first of the year. I am so ready for this journey. I'll keep you all posted as I move through the process.

I had mine done five years ago and don't regret one minute of it. I have lost 82.7% of my weight. I still have 10 pounds to go, but I will get there.
I hope I can say that when I'm 5 years out...congradulations...you rock!
Very best of luck to you!
I'm 63 yrs old and had my surgery May 5, 2015. If you have any questions you can contact me.
Thanks...I do have questions...How has your after surgery diet been? What kind of vitamins and protein do you take?
I had no trouble whatsoever except plain water, I used crystal light mostly for my water. I found that I could eat almost anything, just in small portions. I followed the guidelines I was given for my diet. I take fish oil, centrum, OsCal, B-12, and D3-5000 Hopefully that will help you.
I forgot the protein, I use the WHEY protein mix.
What happened when you drank plain water? Or do you just not like it?
It felt heavy on my stomach. I don't have that problem anymore.
I did gastric bypass surgery three years ago and I am now gained 5lbs back and it is the hardest thing to come off hopefully things work out for you
I have read that some people have a slower loss than others. I can see that it would be frustrating after going thru all the classes and tests and the surgery just to have it come off so slow. I'm older and I wonder what my weight loss after my surgery will be. I've always been able to lose weight on all the diets I've been on in the past....just can't keep it off....hopefully gastric bypass is the key for me.
Hi after three years i have gained 5lbs and so hard to come off and still have to loss 40lbs I am really worried my wight loss has been so slow
