The thought of plastic surgery was not something...

The thought of plastic surgery was not something that crossed my mind until after my second child came along. I am 5'1" a fluctuating 130-140lbs, 36b but deflatted after breastfeeding each kid for a year, and fairly athletic. The day I gave birth to my second child I was 220lbs and looked nothing like the person I remembered before kids. I am now back in shape and exercise regularly and am ready to commit to a mommy makeover to get my outsides to match how I feel inside. I will be getting a breast augmentation, no lift, with 550cc high profile smooth mentor implants, liposuction of the inner and outer thighs, and a mini tummy tuck. The mini tummy tuck I have been going back and forth on but right now am pretty set on getting. I have a very supportive husband who has already requested 2 weeks off to stay with me during my recovery and keep the kids entertained. I haven't even requested off yet. That is one thing I am interested to know, did you use vacation or sick time? I would like to use sick time but don't want too many questions asked. The doctor is fixing a inguinal hernia while doing the mini tummy tuck so that is my reason for wanting to use sick time. My husband actually found this site and encouraged me to join. I have learned so much and thank everyone for posting. I'm undecided about posting pictures.

Yay for your husband directing you here! If you'd like, you can post clothed photos that crop out your face, but I would recommend posting photos as they increase engagement on reviews quite a bit.

Thanks so much for starting your story! I'll be checking back for updates. :)

Thank you for sharing your story. It was hard for me to decide on posting pictures since I am a teacher and would feel extremely embarrassed if any if my students made a connection. But for the sake of doctors answers I did. It's so much easier to get a real answer when there is fact to go on. I am off for the summer and do not need to worry about the pay time off but I would use sick time if it were during the school year. The only thing your employer has to know is that you are under the care of a doctor, you have privacy rights, they do not need to know about the care. If you have a lot of vacation saved up and you would stop accruing, then you should use vacation. I hope my comments help.

Thank you. Your comment was really helpful. I am leaning towards posting pictures. Right now I am away for work and will probably post after I return. As for asking for time, I will do that upon my return as well. I work for a small municipality and they are very strict on time off. I dont have enough vacation to cover the time but will have enough sick. I know everything will work out. I appreciate the support.

Things are changing

So I had a follow-up consultation today because I had more questions and just wasn't sure about having a mini tt vs a full. After all my questions and the doctors answers, I have decided to go with a full tt. This means I will no longer be getting lipo at the same time. The doctor said he would rather split the surgies up so I get the best results. He said with the amount of fluid he will put in me for the breast aug and tt, it would be difficult to get the best results with the lipo. Also he said the recovery when combining all 3 procedures is significantly greater and I would be struggling for energy for a month or more, which I can't afford with 2 careers and a busy home life. So approximately 4 weeks after my full tt and breast aug I will address my thighs. As of right now my surgery date may change and the cost as well. I will update once I know more. The scheduler was out today because of the approaching holiday and I completely understand that. My husband was with me for this appointment as well and he is fine with my decision. He just wants me happy and to have the best results possible. I just had chinese food so possibly on a skinny day next week I will post some pics.

So I picked up my new quote for just the BA and now Full tt with muscle repair. I upgraded the tt from a mini to full and decided on postponing lipo of inner and outer thighs to later. I was expecting about $1000 increase but it was only $300 so I said yes lets do it. The lipo on its own will be $2600 so looking at maybe January or feb for that. My surgery date also got pushed back a day which is fine with me. The office has been so helpful and reassuring about my changes, decisions, and requests. My biggest hurdle was telling my boss. I got that done this morning and as soon as I said surgery she said ok no problem lets fill out fmla form just in case and so she didn't ask too many questions she wasn't supposed to. The questions were my biggest fear and she didn't want any details which was a relief.
