Sorry it's been so long since my last update. Life has been flying by. I have been back in the gym since 6 weeks po. I took it real slow the first 2 weeks and started back running and doing weights regularly last week. My chest and stomach were very tight at the beginning but now they stay pretty relaxed during my workouts. Something I found interesting is that with the cold weather my chest and tummy muscles tighten up more than when its warm. I am lifting my 30lb and 40lb kids just fine. My belly button still is a little tight but I have been sticking a cottonball in it and that seems to be helping. My breasts still get some sharp nerve pains here and there. The left nipple has more sensation than the right but I'm not too concerned. I still wear an underwire free bra and a binder during the day. At night it varies based on how swollen I am.

Thank you so much for your info and pics! I am considering Dr. Lee, and you have helped me to see that it's important to pic a surgeon close to home!!!

So I made it through Christmas and seeing my in-laws without anyone noticing what changed. That is exactly what I wanted. I tried on so many outfits before I packed just to make sure nothing showed off the new figure too much.

I had my 4 week po doc visit last week and everything is looking good. My scars are doing well and my doc does not want me using any scar treatments. I just rub moisturizing lotion over my scars twice a day. Once my stomach lossens up he will actually be taking off the rest of my tattoo which I am looking forward to. I am cleared for just about all activity with exception of abs. I can start that next week. I still wear my cg and some type of bra 24/7 since I do still swell by the end of the day. Other than that I do feel pretty much like myself and am back to full participation with taking care of the kids. Hope everyone had a great holiday and has a happy new year!

Looking fabulous! So good to hear you feel pretty much like yourself in only 5 weeks. I look forward to that too. I wonder why no scar treatment per your doc. Glad all's well and happy healing :)

Thank you, so are you.

You look great!! Sooooo happy to hear you got back to work at 2 weeks. I'm hoping for 2 weeks PO, but planning for 3 - just to be on the safe side. My kids are young too - what did you tell them about the surgery - if anything at all? I'm also trying to keep this all on the down-low so I'd hate it if my kids went to school and told everyone that "mom had her tummy fixed". Any advice??

I'm scheduled for Feb with a 2 and 5 year old. I will be staying at my mom's following surgery, until it's a little easier for me to be home with them. I am a SAHM/WAHM so it will be a big change for them to not have me home. We intend on telling them that I'm just going to stay with grandma for a short vacation and we'll just play it out as we go. They're too young to understand fully what's happening. And I'm very nervous about image distortion problems for my VERY impressionable and observant 5 year old daughter. Luckily, she is in school and very busy with sports so I'm hoping they'll have enough distraction....

I told them mommy hurt her belly and had it fixed. Both kids did really well and were very respectful of the space I needed and my inability to hold them. My daughter was full of questions and I tried to make my answers simple. Such as when she asked about the drains I told her thye help take out extra fluid that my body made to help me heal. They still like to look at my scar and showing them I think helps to make them understand. The worst my daughter said st school was that I had to stay in bed because I had surgery. When her teacher said that I didn't bother to elaborate and just leave it as I had surgery, no specifics and people are pretty respectful of that answer. Hope that helps.

thanks - Really appreciate you both sharing your approaches :)

Thanks for sharing! You're looking great already so imagine when the swelling subside. So exciting. I'm planning on a mommy makeover with Tt/w lipo and BA as well in March 2015. I don't have a husband but I have 18 and 14 yr old daughters that can drive me, cook and help me out while I recover.

I'm sure you will be in good hands. March will be here before you know it.

You're looking great! So glad the holidays went smoothly. What size bra are you fitting now? What were you before? Beautiful results!

Thank you. I was a wishful 36b and am now a 36d. I still have some swelling so I might end up a full c when all is healed. They look great so I have no complaints.

I cannot believe it has been 3 weeks already. My incisions are looking good and overall I am feeling pretty good. I do still have swelling at the end of the day and even now wake up with swelling in my flanks but it's nothing too bad. I am starting to sleep on my sides so I contribute the flank swelling to that. I went to the gym last night and did 20 minutes of slow walking and then attempted to stair stepper but only lasted 5 minutes. So I went to a seated bike and did 2 miles at a slow pace. Felt great to be doing something. I called my doc for a refill on muscle relaxers, this makes 3 scripts for those. We have had a cold front for a few days and my boobs and tummy hurt more when its cold. I have some annoying stitches that pop out along my incision too but i just clip them back and wait for the rest to dissolve. I am wearing my first normal work pants and shirt outfit since surgery and I even got a compliment on my shape. That made my day.
I also purchased another cg and really like this one for tighter clothes and when I need a little more flexibility since there is no boning.

Your scar is healing very well and looking lighter. Your tummy also looks very flat! It must feel pretty cool to wear a pair of pants with buttons that fit and no muffin top!!! Great job getting back to working out. Happy healing :)

Thanks. Yes it does. Now if I can just get cleared to start running again to get my legs and back side back in shape.
