Before and afters at 2 weeks post surgery

WORTH IT
I am so thrilled with my results already! I Still have to learn how to dress my new body but otherwise, I'm completely satisfied. Still have some bruising and mild discomfort and get those zingers people mention but all manageable.

They look great. I just started the process. I was approved in Ontario and 2 weeks after I moved here, I got the call for my surgery. Last week I saw my family doc here in BC. He said if I was approved in Ontario, we just needed the paper work and I'd be approved here. Now I'm very excited and can't wait to find out for sure. I'm a 38 DDD but have been losing weight so I just hope I still qualify and get mine done.
Thank you Smallblessings! I got the referral to the plastic surgeon from my GP. I guess there are only certain plastic surgeons that are opted in for MSP to cover it. My surgeon told me at my initial consultation that mine would be covered. I don't know much about criteria, I never asked. From the initial consult I expected to wait a year. Luckily I got a call 2 months later with a date so I only waited 4 months (6 if you count the 2 I had to wait for the initial consult). Good luck to you!
I really enjoyed your review of all that you went through. It was was great information. From what I understand, the PS just has to say that you are approved. There is no going to the BC medical for approval any more. So I just have to be careful about losing too much weight before he says ok. Once he says ok, the weight loss is a plus. I live up in Smithers and Prince George is the closest PS that will do Medical Care BR's. There's not much information on the surgeons in Prince George. Probably because it's a small town but I'm hoping that means a fast date.
I hope you get a fast date too! Good luck!

Made it!

Well I had my reduction surgery on Monday Jan 26 and I needed to spend one night in hospital because of a possible respiratory infection but otherwise I'm doing well. Very little pain, I've only needed Naproxen and Tylenol (over the counter meds) . I was able to take the dressings off today and shower. WOW!! They look so amazing already :) I wanted to go to a B/small C but I was worried because I keep reading about ladies who felt they weren't small enough after. Well no problem there, they look just like I wanted. A bit swollen and high but once they settle in, they will be just perfect. Wish I had done this years ago.

Congrats! You look great and exactly the size I hope to be after my 3/20 surgery. Hope you continue to have an easy recovery.
Thanks Soozq! Good luck to you!
I am also worried that I won't be small enough afterwards. What did you tell your doctor before the surgery, if you don't mind me asking? :) You look great by the way! :D
Yes, please share. FenceRider, I think a lot depends upon your anatomy and whether the PS is able to ensure a blood supply to the nipple. My PS said she doesn't like to discuss cup sizes b/c that can be misleading, but she did talk small, medium and large and showed me pictures to illustrate those. I want to be SMALL.
Ok, great! Thank you! That makes sense about the blood supply to the nipple. My doctor wouldn't talk sizes with me either, but I will relay to him that I want to be SMALL. Thank you again!! :D
Thanks FenceRider! When I met with the surgeon the first time, she asked about size and we had a discussion about how size is so subjective because try 10 different 32 B bras and they'd all look/fit differently. I said I wanted to be a full B or small C max. I explained I had never liked my breasts and she explained that she matches the size to the frame. She does not guarantee cup size but by me saying B/C she knows I want to be on the smaller size and she felt confident that I would be happy with the outcome. She reconfirmed my size request right before surgery and I am happy so say, she delivered. Of course now I see my tummy ;) but I know that will disappear once I'm back exercising. My thought was that it's much easier to make your bust look larger than smaller. Push up, water bras etc. I'm happy she listened and I don't feel like I went through surgery and I'm still too big. I love how clothes fit already and how I can actually breathe easier without heavy breasts sitting on my diaphram.
Forgot to add everything Soozq said about blood supply to the nipple is accurate too!
Thank you GtoB! That was very helpful. My doctor didn't even ask me what size I wanted to be, probably because he wouldn't guarantee them, but my surgery is on Monday, and I will be telling him then that I want to be small whether he asks or not. I have been big for so long, I just want the freedom to go braless if I want to after going through all of this. I will make it clear when he comes in to mark me on Monday what my expectations are. Thank you for the advice, as I will be using it!! :D
FenceRider I completely understand! First thing I said to my girlfriend was that for the first time in my life I could go bra less! I did have a mini panic attack when I first took the dressings off, like gosh, they ARE small , but that quickly went away. Each day I love them more. They are softening and starting to feel more normal now. For the first time I can't wait for summer fashion! Very best of luck to you & can't wait to hear all about it!
Thank you so much for your responses! I think I will also have a mini panic attack, haha! But I will quickly realize all of the new things I can do, that I have never been able to do in my entire life. I can't wait to see how it feels, because honestly I can't even pretend to imagine. This website has really helped me, and it is because of people like you, so THANK YOU! :D
You look great! I will get my surgery on April 27th excited and nervous!
Thanks AleDD! It came up so fast for me I didn't really have too much time to get nervous lol! Everyone was so great and I got amazing care. Good luck to you!!
You look fabulous!!! You must be thrilled. Mine were riding high too and looked pretty strange post-surgery but it all settles down in time. I was a small D initially and now I'm a small C, which is perfect for my frame. I feel like I looked exactly like you before AND after BTW! Congratulations! I think we all wonder why we didn't do it years ago.
Thanks Veggie59! I am so thrilled with them. I still can't believe how good they look so early on. I was a bit worried about Frankenboobies lol! Today is a week and they are feeling so much better. None of my steri strips have fallen off yet but from what I can see, the incisions look amazing too. I am so thrilled with my PS!
