WORTH IT
Hi everyone, I recently had Emax porcelain veneers on my teeth. 18 in total, 10 on upper and 8 on lower teeth.
Overall I am very happy with the result. I still feel a bot strange when I look at the mirror but I have only had them for 4 days so I guess it is normal.
The procedure was a bit tiring for myself so I bet it must have been exhausting for the dentist + nurses.
Prep took about three hours (prep + 1 filling) but fitting was the most exhausting part. I, somehow expected this would have been done and dusted pretty quick as it only was a matter of sticking the veneers on the prepped teeth, but it took a total of 5 hours (18 teeth + 4 more fillings in molars). By the end of the procedure my lips were sore and swollen.
I also was a bit surprised on how much of my teeth had to be grinded. When I asked the doctor she said she would do as little as possible but I suppose, as some of my teeth were crooked, the least in my case would have been more than other patients.
After fitting I had a final check up the day before, were I enquired about the two frontal upper teeth as I thought they looked slightly too long compared to the rest. The dentist said she could shave them down to make them a bit shorter but she didn’t recommend as otherwise my smile would look odd.
Colour chosen was BL2.
Let me know what you think of the results :)

They look perfect! How was your experience with temporary veneers? I am in the process of getting emax veneers and I hope that my final result is as perfect as yours!

The temporary were fine. I just tried to forget I was wearing them. When you it you can somehow feel that they are not your real teeth and that makes you be careful when chewing. I was not really looking after what I was putting into my mouth and as a result I lost one of them the evening before my final appointment which was ok. Hope everything goes well with yours and that you are happy with the result :)

I think they look perfect! I also agree with the dentist about not filing the front teeth down, as it would look too fake, and give you a "chiclet gum" smile. They look amazing the way they are. How much did the veneers cost if you don't mind me asking? And what city are you in?

Hi Christy, thanks for your comment. I live in London, but went all the way to Bangkok to have the done. I paid for the 18 veneers plus 4 fillings around £5.5k. Hope this info helps.

They look very nice on you! They look healthy and white! The veneers definitely changed your smile, your smile is a lot more softer and kinder/friendlier. I just got 10 upper veneers myself, it’s made my smile a lot more inviting and warmer. I’m a bit on the fence about the shade I chose though. I got one shade below the whitest. Was BL2 the whitest option they had in Bangkok?

Thanks for your nice comments! I can definitely say now the whole thing was worth it! I am sure you look great as well with your 10 upper veneers. In terms of the colour, they did BL1 in Bangkok too, but I just wanted my teeth to look white like a plate or a china mug. To be honest with you, the first time I saw my veneers I thought they were way too white (being a BL2), however, after wearing them for I while I cannot see them that white anymore and I wonder whether I should have gone for the lighter shade. When I comment this to my friends they say I am crazy and confirm my current ones are the perfect shade for my, so I guess it is all in mi mind...

Sorry, I meant to say I DIDN’T want my teeth to look like a plate! Hehe

BL2 suits you and thanks for getting back to me!

How long will they last and will you need to get them re done in the future ?
February 8, 2019
10 to 20 years, depending on how good care you take. And yes, once these are ready to go I will have to get a new whole set.

Did you suffer from sensitive teeth
February 8, 2019
Not before, yes during the procedure (it was actually quite uncomfortable!), and ver little after (sometimes when flossing or rinsing my mouth with very cold water).

You say you surprised at how much of your natural teeth was removed. How much was it exactly, did you end up with little ”cones” ? I feel like this differs so much from one dentist to another..and I’m confused because i thought only crowns were applied to small little knobs
February 10, 2019
Hello Joanny, I did not end up with little “cones”. As you said, those are typically needed for crowns and not for veneers. In my case they removed enough teeth to leave little gaps between them. Still have a “normal” shaped tooth underneath the veneers but smaller than what they used to be. Any veneers you get, your natural teeth will not be left in a state where you can just remove the veneers and get back to your old smile. You need to be aware pf this before you make the decision to go for it. Hope this helps ;)
