I used to have very oily dull skin with large pores and saggy skin around my jaws that always turned into my ‘second chin’ when I looked down (since I was in high school). I suppose it was my bad habit of eating margarine as my snack (yes, it was crazy, I know) throughout my elementary school years.
All women in my family have radiant flawless supple skin with INvisible pores (including my grandmother), except me. On top of that, I have hundreds of scars from the acnes that I used to have until few years ago. I am 39 now, with light brown skin (typical South-East Asian), hence I can easily get away with few ‘brown spots’, and I suppose my skin is less sensitive compared to the Caucasian skin.
I have had 8 sessions of light Erbium laser treatments. Of course it felt hot and of course my face turned red during the first few days after the treatment. But I have never been known for my looks, hence I didn't care about the down time. Each session was about 3-4 weeks apart, depending on whether I was prepared to not spend time under the sun.
The reason I did Erbium laser was initially to cure the acne scars that I had (thanks to my oily skin that has successfully made me acne-prone), but then I notice that the improvement on my skin was actually more fundamental: My skin has become less oily, the pore size reduced, the tone has become lighter and the brown spots have disaapeared, my skin looks radiant, and the skin tightened. After my 4th session, I noticed that I have lost my 'second chin' and now I don't have the oil-mine on my nose and I have no breakout at all.
I have had 8 sessions of the laser because I love the result so much that I have become a junkie. I plan to continue on doing it perhaps every 6-months or annually to maintain the youthfulness of my skin. I even insisted my brother (who also has the same problem as I did) to do it but he didn't want to do it for the second time because he hated the pain from the burnt skin.
My acne scars are still there, but they have reduced, and anyway, even with scars that I still have, I look better already now that I have tight supple skin and lost my double chin.
I have the before and after pictures of my facial skin that show the improvement, I will upload later.
