I will never be a small girl but after having my huge skin flap removed, I feel like a normal person. I am 5'9" and was 234# at the time of surgery. 7.5 pounds of skin was removed and my amazing doctor gave me the perfect shape for someone of my size. Now 3 months later, I still have swelling and have been fighting a small seroma which has slowed me down but it's all definitely worth it. Can't wait to get back into an exercise routine and get my energy back. I actually feel motivated without that flap there!! By three months, you forget about the first painful week and you will be glad you did it...so stop thinking about it!! :)

You look great. Dr. Harrington did my surgery August 1 and I am so pleased. I agree she and her staff are awesome. Did you have the muscle repair as well?

Thank you!! Yes I did have the muscle repair also. I still have some aches in the muscles by the end of the day or when I first get out of bed in the morning but the skin doesn't bother me at all.

My tummy tuck is 2yrs ago the past week I have alot of pain in stomach seems tight and some what puffy could it be related to the tuck?

I am 9 days post op and am, too, a big girl. I am so weak I can't get in and out of bed or off and on the potty or wipe myself. My second drain fell out on its own. The binder is so tight I can't eat or breathe. I have been in bed constantly.

The best advice I can give you is to move anyway. Take your pain meds and do the things you need to do. It will get better. All of a sudden you will forget how bad it was! Is the binder not adjustable? It should only need to be right enough to feel secure and supportive...it shouldn't affect breathing. Hang in there!

All has been healing well. I got my after photos and final checkup done today and can't believe how I already forgot how bad it was. First summer since 1980 that my tummy saw sunshine. And I feel really good about myself for the first time in my adult life. Still numb below my belly button but I'm used to it. I occasionally get nerve twinges from things still healing. The before/after pic was from my doctor today...seriously I GAINED 20 pounds due to other stress and being lazy this year. So don't think it's not just surgical!! I'm on a mission to lose...will update next year!

I’m interested in the same doctor and procedure. My tummy looks very similar to our before picture as well. I’m curious if you remember how long between your consult and your actual surgery was?
