Day 9 Post-op

So I am curious if others find the massage uncomfortable and how long that discomfort lasts? I agree it loosens the tightness and feel good after but I don't look fwd to doing it [doc said every 2 hours, 10 reps!] I read that a few BA's end up with one or both breasts in capsular contracture and that massage prevents that so I WILL do it!
Every day is better, slightly less pain. I mind the tightness the most right now as the pain is fleeting here and there, healing nerves and muscles. The tightness causes me to stand a bit stooped or not stretch as much as I should...then I get upper back pain. So making an real effort to sit and stand up straight, do more stretching and massage!!!
Next post-op appointment is in 12 days. Hope doc changes out my dressings/silicone strips. I feel they pull my skin but it may not be the case, just the tightness of healing muscles.
Going to our 1st social function this evening where I'm sure hugs will be exchanged. A little nervous b/c some people tend to hug pretty tight and I KNOW that won't feel good :(

My 1st post-op...massage and surprise!

I thought Dr B would remove and replace the silicone tapes but no, not for another couple weeks. I also thought the tightness was sue to those tapes and my skin being overly stretched. To my surprise it is mostly my muscles and after Dr B teaching me the massage technique I felt a lot better. He also instructed me to do arm stretches but no chest muscle exercises. The surprise was how painful the massage was at 1st! EEEEEouch!! BUT as Dr B said, it will make me feel better, is what is required to keep the implant pocket loose and I will actually look forward to do it. OK so I have to take his word for it ;) However, since then I have done it twice and it does get a little easier each time.
I should mention that the bottom 1/2 of each breast is on the numb side, nipples are about normal sensitivity and the top 1/2 of breasts not numb.
OK back to massage and work :)

1st Post-op day!

Can't wait for Dr B to tell me how I'm progressing! Feeling great and they look better each day!
