ORIGINAL POST
Results & Experience Not One & the Same
As this page is for support, information, and all things plastic surgery by Lazos, I find it fitting to post an honest review of my experience now that I am 6 weeks post op...
I had surgery March 20th, 2020. During my pre-op appointment on March 19th, I expected Lazos to be as personable as he was made to seem, but he was quite rushed and dismissive. Additionally, I never got to try on different cc sizes and was given one size that I was told was the best my body could hold. I paid for a boppy and an extra faja that I was told would be at my hotel during my first massage.
I started my menstrual cycle (not expected) and after asking many times, sending emails, etc. I was left to handle the bleeding by laying on a diaper sheet. After breaking down with Maripaz, it was she who remedied that for me.
After numerous emails, phone calls, and reaching out to inquire about my second (paid for already) faja, I was told by Allison that I would receive it Monday as I was told prior (which I was not told it would be that long or else I wouldn’t have been asking).
During my time at the hotel, Maripaz was amazing & most of the nurses were as well.
I received an email with my own photo attached accusing me of not wanting my pictures posted but then posting them myself which were also cc’d to Lazos. Allison repeatedly mistook me for another patient which would have been an easy mistake except I never received an apology after my response.
I dealt with a strange arm bulge and vein discomfort & pain after surgery which was dismissed by multiple nurses and doctors. Upon coming home, I ended up in the Emergency room with a blood clot in one of my veins that needed treated. Since blood clots are a risk with any surgery & with IV, I don’t put blame on anyone involved, but I do feel my concerns could’ve been taken a little more seriously.
The morning after my post op, I was to come home. I was very disappointed, angered, & panicked at the way the EOC drivers handled what they told us next: that they promised to get us to the border but that we would quite possibly need to find our own ways once we got to the border (not the San Diego airport). They told us to save our drama, that it wasn’t a big deal, that at least we were going to be able to get home. I felt that the situation could’ve been handled a little more delicately and with sensitivity considering the situations at hand.
Upon making it home and my first ER visit regarding my blood clot, I was contacted by Lazos asking me to give him a good review on RealSelf where he sent the link. I told him once I was further along in my healing I would be happy to do so for him.
Then I had what might’ve been a wound opening that might be infected. I reached out in an email to both Allison and Dr. Lazos. Allison responses promptly that she would let me know when Lazos gets back to her. 24 hours later, no response still. I ended up back in the ER once I finally got ahold of Lazos to remedy the reaction my skin was having to dissolving a stitch.
I am happy with my results and the work of Dr. Lazos, but I do feel that the EOC company could handle things with more care, compassion, integrity, and professionalism going forward. I understand that there are 16,000+ members to oversee, but that should never take away from ones professionalism and humanity in dealing with other people. I feel as if this page is great for providing insight but it functions poorly in providing support that is focused on positivity and uplifting one another during such a big surgery. Asking questions should not be seen as stirring the pot, holding the power of deciding what happens in regards to our surgeries should not be used to silence someone’s experience, questions, or concerns. Giving medical advice should be left to medical professionals (aka nurses, doctors, etc).
I am aware that many things I’ve said will not be taken well & I accept that as part of my responsibility in positing my honest review. I kept quiet while under medical care in fear that if I spoke out I would not receive the same care (as many women on this site/blocked from this site have experienced).
So far, I am more than happy with my decision to have Lazos do my surgery. I am happy with most of my care. My concerns come from aftercare and the handling of concerns, questions, the fb page, etc which are regulated by the EOC coordinators. Nobody is perfect, but we can all strive to do better. With power comes responsibility...but power should never be used to intimidate into silence, bully, act as if a medical professional, shame, guilt, etc.

Good on you for being honest . I'd love to know what their response is to this !
I was told that emails were not received, that I was not addressing the whole truth, & that I was “smiling in me ER pics”. I saved all correspondence just for safe keeping. It is also being said that I posted a negative review to make myself feel better. When, in fact, it wasn’t a negative review of my surgery, rather that of my experience.
Thank you for your candor and honesty. It helps all of us as we make our decisions.
Thank you for posting this review. I have been seeing a lot of reviews about him recently and was considering him. It's very clear that he is too good to be true and thank you for your honest review!
Thank you for your honest review. This helps a lot with condensing my decisions.
Thank you for you honest review. I must say I was swayed by all the positive reviews, but seeing your review and a few others like it, makes me wonder if those reviews are indeed real patients or just fluff to get more unsuspecting people in the door. Wishing you all the best.
