47 Year Old Wife an Mom of Two Adults and So over Big Boobs!

I've been wanting a Breast reduction for about 15 years but went back and forth thinking "I guess I can just live with them". I've been a 36 DDD and more recently a 36G. I've learned to just pack them down over the years. Ultimately though, the headaches were enough for me to talk with my GYN about it. He told me thought I was an excellent candidate and explained how heavy dense breasts can absolutely be a cause of my headaches, neck and shoulder pain, back pain and muscle spasms. Not to mention the deep shoulder grooves. So about after three years of documenting my complaints, I decided to have a consultation to let an expert give me his professional opinion. At least I'll know and won't regret not getting one. My consultation was in March and he took one look during my exam and said " yes, your breasts are too big for your body" Thank you!! I needed that!! From there he took the best care of me and I trusted him to make me smaller and proportioned to my body size. I also decide I was going to have surgery even if insurance wasn't going to cover it and he said I think they will and we will get everything submitted. Mind you, I had my files from my GYN sent over and latest mammogram. Side note-never had any chiropractic, PT, massage therapy for my issue. I just did my own therapy I guess. I felt like it was a very small chance of being approved. Anyway, about 4weeks later I received a call from Dr. Oliva's office saying approved and let's schedule!! BCBS came through too! So excited and not expected! It was smooth sailing from there on out and I also decided to have auxiliary liposuction on both sides for contouring and I'm so glad I did. Surgery went great and Dr Oliva was always considerate keeping my husband informed. I had drains for 24 hours and they were very helpful and absolutely no pain when he removed them. The scars are beautiful and mild and I'm actually proud to have them. At 48 now, who cares. Plus they are already so faint because of his expertise. Three months later I can say I've had one headache as opposed to 3 per month. Not one muscle spasm, mild back and neck pain but goes away and isn't consistent. I didn't expect to be cured of them all just relieved of some symptoms. It's all a positive!! My size currently is 36C and I believe I always should have been this size. Somehow when I was growing I skipped over that letter. I don't remember being a C cup. I hope to stay this size and will do everything I can to do so. I still wear a genie bra at night just for support as doctor says I have stretchy skin. Overall, I'm blessed and so grateful I had this opportunity to help myself. Thank you Dr. Oliva and all his staff, BCBS insurance for approving it and my husband for encouraging me to pull the trigger on this. So happy!!!
