I approached Dr Goh for breast augmentation, as my breast did not develop correctly and were extremely asymmetrical. Growing up with such a deformity did not bode well for my years as a teenager. The difference in size is strikingly obvious, and I loathed my body. As one of my breast were several cups different from the other, no bra has ever fit me. In order to provide some form of support, I've always had to rely on sports bras(sometimes layering 2 or 3) to bind my chest and reduce its appearance. Apart from sports bras, I was only able to wear clothes which were baggy or layered. Beyond just affecting my self-esteem, I struggled to even live normally.

Dr Goh is an incredibly patient doctor who listened to my concerns well. Professional, attentive, and considerate. He is definitely passionate in his field. As a 22 year old, I went into this completely on my own but it was easy for me to trust and be comfortable with him. It never once felt money grabbing or dishonest. 

Our consultations and surgery were held at the Singapore General Hospital. He has an extensive portfolio, and it was incredibly relieving to know that he has dealt with similar and more drastic cases. 

Originally, I was quite resigned with how my body looked and came in wanting to do a full reduction on my larger breast. I was ready to have it chopped off and live with a flat chest. But through consultations with him, he was able to offer me an alternative in which a reduction would be made to my larger breast and fat grafting on my smaller breast to balance them out. 

The procedure i went through was "Mastopexy and correction of breast asymmetry with structural fat grafting"

Dr Goh was by my side from start to finish, with multiple consultations before the surgery, introducing resources that would aid my recovery, and communication via email. After the surgery, he would still monitor my progress through the medical team who were looking after me, or by visiting me at night in my hospital ward.

Following the surgery, there are still more follow up sessions with him to ensure a smooth recovery. Any concerns I had were met with reassurance or suggestions of what we could do.

It has been almost a year since the surgery, and I am beyond grateful and happy with the results. It feels liberating and free to be able to dress how I want, to find bras that fit me properly, and to no longer be bothered by the heavy pendulum of a breast that hung on the right side of my body.

I've always imagined how it would be like to go through surgery for my breasts and this was everything I expected and more. I love my body even more and I feel beautiful even with the breast reduction scar.
