Worth It but Painful!!!
I recently had the plasma pen treatment done on both my upper and lower eyelids to help alleviate sagging upper eyelid skin and wrinkles left from a recent weight loss
First off if you have vascular skin like me, expect this treatment (and recovery) to be VERY painful. The esthetician that did mine has been treating my skin for over 10 yrs and knows how reactive my skin is and numbed me twice. It still hurt!!!
Once the treatment was done is felt like a bad sunburn for the remainder of that evening. Not too bad. The next morning however I woke up and could barely open my eyes due to the swelling. My lower lids were the worst.
I would never recommend that both upper and lower lids are done at the same time! (My opinion due to the swelling!)
By day 2 the swelling had mostly subsided and it had started to crust over. It was dry, and TIGHT for the remainder of the next 3 days until the scabs started coming off.
You CANNOT pick these scabs or it can leave scarring!!! And you need to keep the area dry until they shed. I didn’t wash my face for 5 days until 80% of the scabs had fallen off. And then just gently washed, immediately dried, and applied a very gentle moisturizer and spf 55 sunscreen.
I am very happy so far with the treatment and will update photos at the 6-8 week mark. At that point I will decide if I want to do another round on my upper lids.
