If I had the time again I would not have gone ahead with the procedure

Fibroblast my Experience

Lpv569

I had fibroblast treatment for crows feet around my eyes, and frown lines between my eyes. This treatment is claimed to be non invasive however I don’t agree. Basically it involves pinprick sized burns to the skin. A scab forms accompanied by inflammation and swelling.

Healing takes around 7 days, the time it takes for the scabs to fall off. I suffered significant swelling, and could not go out in public as I looked like a victim of a physical assault. The swelling was particularly bad around the delicate eye area. It is now 6 weeks since the treatment and I have post inflammatory hyperpigmentation in the frown line area between my eyes.

I have to camouflage the area with makeup and have purchased various scare and fading creams in an attempt to lighten the redness. I have not noticed any reduction in wrinkles, in fact think the frown lines are the same if not slightly worse. It was a painful treatment, with a full week of healing during which time I looked like a scene from a horror movie. If I had the time again I would not have gone ahead with the procedure.

You are welcome. I hope my experience helps someone else make an informed decision.

Hey, can I ask please have you had any prep for the treatment and patch test done? And what is the exact name of that device ( fibroblasts its not the device name) As not all of them have CE or FDA approval, meaning that they are not safe and may live skin burns like in your case, it is looking like you had second-degree burns do to the blisters. Can you please provide more information. It is a relatively new procedure in the market place. You really have to understand skin and perform a test patch before any procedure like this. It is looking to me that practitioner wasn't competent.
Also the barging on cosmetic procedure have to be abundant, it is very wrong. It says the practitioner is not qualified enough. Be careful in the future. I wish you luck.

I’m in Australia, so not covered by US regulations. It was a Purebeau Fibroblast machine. I agree it is very much up to the practitioner as the results can vary quite dramatically. The position of the fibroblast pen relative to the wrinkle, the distance between the small burns, how long the pen is held in position ( therefore the depth of the burn). Also the location on the body, i.e. the thin delicate skin around the eye compared to the forehead. There are so many variables and if the practitioner is not a highly experienced Professional the results can vary dramatically. While the pain and discomfort of the initial healing period was pretty bad, the hyperpigmentation was unexpected. The fact that 3 months later I still have to treat the pigmentation is upsetting. This is setting aside the fact that there’s no improvement in/reduction in my wrinkles in the treated area. In fact, if the pen is not positioned correctly relative to the wrinkle the wrinkle can deepen, ( as in my case).
I hope this helps others, please be very careful and do your research. Due to my experience, I would not recommend this treatment.

Where abouts in Australia are you? I'm in Adelaide and have booked in to have this done but now I'm very scared. Not sure if you can name the place you had it done

I’m in Sydney. Please thoroughly research the practitioner you choose. Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation has left me with a very noticeable skin discolouration. Make sure to look into this side effect before going ahead with the procedure as it can leave lasting discolouration of the skin as I have experienced. (Not to mention the healing process as my photos show.)

Hyperpigmentation 11 weeks after fibroblast

Lpv569
This is my progress nearly 3 months later ( I had fibroblast on 20 February 20). The hyperpigmentation between my eyes to treat frown lines has faded. I’m using DemaScare gel twice daily to treat the area. I’m also applying SPF 50 zinc sunblock every day, and always wear a hat when outside. The wrinkles are more obvious than before the treatment. So a very disappointing result.

Do you have a before photo? Was the person certified?

Yes the procedure was done at a beauty salon owned by a certified practitioner. I’ll post a before photo.

I've suffered from the same. I've used dermapen and hydroquinone 4%.

Thanks for the recommendation. The redness is fading, but still noticeable.

Before treatment

The first photo was taken February 2020, makeup free, just before I had fibroblast. The second photo was taken today, 3 months 10 days post treatment. I am wearing Concealer and tInted CC cream. The pigmentation is still noticeable, but not as red.
