12 Week Update
I have waited the full 12 weeks and I have seen zero reduction in wrinkles, which is highly disappointing especially considering how traumatic the healing process has been. Everything I read on the internet and was told by the provider made me believe the hardest part would be waiting for the scabs to fall off in about a week, and then I'd wait for the tightening results at the end of the 12 weeks. I wish I knew that there was a possibility of these unsightly indents when the scabs fell off, so it's not only a one week wait of looking weird, but possibly months. I know some people need 2-3 treatments for results but I can't keep having crazy indented looking skin for months at a time. If you are going to get this procedure please be aware that this is a possibility, I wish I knew before I did it. I still have light indenting and although it is less noticeable and most people probably don't notice it, it's all I see when I look in the mirror and it has honestly made the wrinkles look worse. I'll get updated photos to share soon as well.
Update 1 Month after Scabs fell off
I do think all of the things I am doing to help speed up the healing process have been helping. The divots are very shallow now and not nearly as noticeable. You can see some slight discoloration where some scabs were but not bad at all. I am finally feeling less self conscious over the healing process. One month down, two to go.
Indented Skin when Plasma Fibroblast Scabs Fell Off...be Aware That the Healing Isn't Quick or Simple
I had plasma fibroblasting done on 1/3/22 on the thin, crepey skin under my eyes. I had a friend who went to this same provider and had amazing results. After some research it seemed fairly simple, I was the most worried about the look of the plasma scabs for the 7-10 days they would take to fall off. My understanding was that the skin underneath would be pink but fade over the next few weeks, and the full tightening results could be seen after 12 weeks. I was horrified when the scabs fell off to show an indent where every single scab was, as I didn't see this in ANY of the informational sites I went to online. After lots of googling I ran into "horror" stories of others that experienced this same thing. Now, I do understand that it will take approximately 12 weeks for the skin to cycle through and heal, but I wasn't aware of how exactly the skin would heal as this is the first time I've had anything like this done before. It seems like for the most part, people who have had these indents/divots, they did fill in over time. IF this is in fact a normal part of healing, it would be VERY beneficial to have known about this ahead of time. Once the scabs fell off I contacted the treatment provider who reassured me that it was normal and it would take weeks or months to heal. Still not convinced (as I was an anxious mess at this point worried that I had disfigured my skin permanently), I had an online appointment with a dermatologist who told me "This doesn't look concerning - Once the crusts fall off many people are left with this pockmarked appearance for a few weeks, continue everything you are doing and it should clear in 4-6 weeks." I have been using an LED Red light almost daily, using Factor Five Serum morning and night, taking Collagen, Vitamin C, Zinc, L-Lysine, and added in the Contractubex Scar cream that this dermatologist recommended 3 times a day, plus using SPF daily. Today is week 4 since I have had the procedure done so it is too soon to tell if it has been worth it or not. I am holding onto hope that by 12 weeks these indents will be filled in and that the skin will be tighter. It would have been very helpful to see more information about how stressful the healing process would be beforehand.
