Thanks to all of you that have shared your experiences! Your blogs have been SO helpful in making this decision! Had my consult for a BR over a year ago and then changed my mind. Flash forward a year later and the thought of buying yet another bathing suit that costs a fortune, barely covers the girls and has NO appreciable lift and my mind was made up! Life is too short!

I am 51, 5'3'', 153 pounds and wear a 34HH. I would lilke to lose some weight, but really don't see a realistic weight for me being much less than about 135 pounds (as I do enjoy good food and wine!). At that weight, I am still a 34G and all boobs! Menopause has really seemed to change the weight of my boobs, I have some constant neck and shoulder pain, nothing intolerable but annoying! Didn't think my shoulder grooves could get any worse but they have!

Trying to walk 3-4 times per week, lose about 3 more pounds and drink lots of water between now and surgery. I am SUPER excited, not nervous at all yet, poor hubby is the nervous one I'm sure! One of my BFFs had BR about a year ago, so she will be a big help!

Had my pre-op today, just really love Dr Kerner! She is so calm and reassuring! Was thrilled to find out all stitches will dissolve! Told her I'd like to be a 34D, said she'll do her best, but said there is only so much she can do about the width of the breast. So guess I could end up more like a 34DD or 36D. Has anyone else heard similar? LOL, I am way more worried about size and shape then surgery and recovery! Hubby and I and the nurse got a good chuckle out of me trying on the surgical bra, makes me realize just how humongous these boobs are! Can't wait to reduce!!!

my surgeon told me that where my breasts attach to my chest is wide and therefore can only take me down to a D and not a C. He explained that if they take away too much tissue that I could end up with necrosis or not a nice rounded breast shape. I'm a 34G. I just had my pre-op today too, booby twins!

Yes, that's what she said also, if she goes too small the shape would likely be compromised.....I think you are 2 days before me, wish you all the best, thanks for your reply!

my ps said the same thing.....and mine have turned out fine ..but he also told me to get more realistic about end result ...the first thing he said to me at pre op before marking me up was i am very concerned you are not going to like your breasts astheltically.......i consoled him!!!! funny!! but i got real prepared for just that ..and let me tell you I FEEL FABULOUS!!! and even better i DO like the way they look i am still preparing myself though because from week one to week three lots of droppong and changes i have noticed ..then the three month change ....i know that that they will drop about an inch more before it is over............i am even working on not getting feeling back in my nipples not happy with it but what i do have is feeling back in the rest of my body ..my neck my back no more headaches no more painful everydays ..its worth it !!!! hang in there..get some exlax or stool softener of your choosing ...drink lots of water now and during recovery....stay on top of taking your meds....be aware of when your period is ...girl my boobies hurt like crazy on my period!!!!!! i was in my first week post op..didnt know what the heck then realized..HOWARD!! did i say DRINK LOTS OF WATER!!!!!!!!!!! get lots of movies or whatever.. boredom does set in and i had movies galore to look at...get comfy bras i am a 34 bought a 38 and wore it and now am in a 42 sprots bra...??who knows i dont worry with size i worry with comfort....sleeping sucks as i sleep sitting up even now and i am in week 2.....get some easy eats or pre cook and be aware of your microwave height or however you will heat your food because you cant lift pull or push for a minute..put your things on reachable surfaces ..my kitchen counters look a mess with foods strung all over them....wax your underarms and legs before even then be prepared to "monkey up" again no raising arms .....and go easy with much movement of arms want to keep stitches stitched..i cant think of anything else right now ..good luck !!!!!!!!!!! you will feel the relief immediately......GODSPEED!!

Thanks so much for your words of advice! I have been drinking tons of water and limiting alcohol. I DO rely on the microwave quite a bit and mine is above the stove, kids and hubby will need to help themselves more! Fortunately I am menopausal, so no periods to worry about, yippee! I am dreading how my house is going to look, hubby and kids can be messy! But I know it will all be worth it!!!
