I have been self-conscious of my nose since I was a pre-teen. Finally decided to have the bump removed. Also going to have a Septoplasy and sinus work (Turbinates). Procedure is scheduled for August 17th. Getting nervous about recovery but reading the stories on here really help! Completed pre-op, blood tests and EKG today. Hope all is well there! Im not sure if I am more excited or anxious at this point. Lets go with excited! :)

Welcome to the community and thanks so much for starting your review.

It would be great if you could give us a little more detail about your experience, like why you had the surgery, your tips for getting good results, pros/cons, and info on the recovery process.

Our community members especially love seeing photos from before, during, and after — a realistic look at what they can expect. Photos grab the attention of the community and encourage more support for you.

As a community manager, I get requests all the time from other members who want me to to keep encouraging people to share their experiences, which are so helpful for others considering these procedures. So please accept this as a well-intentioned request from thousands.

Rough Night

happiepatient
Well I had surgery yesterday and ended up staying the night in the hospital. The anesthesia made me extremely sick to my stomach and my heart rate kept dropping into the 40's when I would fall asleep. Luckily I was able to go home this morning and I feel better today; however, swelling and bruising is much worse today. 6 more days and counting!

Hi , thanks for sharing. I am considering rhinoplasty with this surgeon and was wondering how were you dressed for the operating table and are you kept as modest as possible? And what did you have to do in order to prep for the surgery? Like what test to know you will tolerate anesthesia, and did they tell you why you were not able to tolerate the anesthesia (why it made you sick)?

More swelling & pain but a little less bruising.

happiepatient
Had to take my pain pills every 4 hours last night. Pain is definitely worse than yesterday. Bruising seems a little better. Sleep is really hard and I woke up every hour from a dry throat. Swallowing is really painful from the dry mouth/throat. Ive read that post-op day 2-3 are the worst. Im ready to feel like myself again. Right now I feel like a walking zombie! Fingers crossed it will be all worth it next week when the cast and bandage come off.
