Things are looking good with the implant. I have only very slight numbness on the tip and otherwise it feels like my normal chin. It's interesting that I notice a slight assymetry where the right side is slightly larger than the left. I believe that I had this before the implant and that it only became more apparent as my chin became larger. I don't have a problem with it though. I almost always have a beard so it covers everything - these pics are rare shots of me having shaved. Check my earlier posts for more "before" shots.

Things are looking really good. I'm very very happy with the results. I went from a slightly weak chin to a rather strong one. I really like what I see in the mirror. The scar is still thick and raised but I'm starting to massage it and expect it to flatten out over the next few months. Even though my beard has grown in, I can still see slightly raised areas at the end of the implant. I know this is swelling and will eventually flatten out as well. The tip of my chin above the scar is still almost completely numb but I know that will resolve over the next year. The scar itself looks great. The incision should virtually disappear over time.
At this point, everything feels like my actual chin. I don't even notice it unless I lift my chin high and stretch my neck, when I can feel some pulling from the scar. Sometimes when I sleep I get a little nervous about putting pressure on the implant so I'm still a bit careful there.
It's funny how no one has noticed. One person last night complimented my on the way I was wearing my beard - ha! I think I look noticeably different but I think people just see me as looking really good! They probably would be hesitant to ask anyway.
I probably won't post anymore for a while. I'll check back in in a month or two with updates.

thanks for sharing all the way through! It's encouraging and reassuring. My surgery is booked this month so I'm devouring everyone's experiences

Looks good! Are you still satisfied with the result 3 months in? You mentioned that you could see the wings of the implant; was that just swelling, and did it settle down?

It has been about 18 months now and I'm very satisfied. The sides have settled down and there is only a very slight raise where the "wings" are.

Went to a party with friends and am now home with family. No one has noticed a thing or made any comments. Swelling is getting less and less and just has the raised scar now. My beard covers up a lot but I'm very happy with the change. Overall it just added more weight and angles to my face. Most of the time I forget it's there and I have no pain or weird sensations. Still numb on the tip of my chin but my smile is back to normal. Will post more pics in a few days.

Thank you very much. It looks great.
In an earlier post you mentioned asymmetry. Are you still seeing that? I had my implant done on the 18th of this month and I am seeing a bit more swelling on one side of my chin than the other.

It's hard to tell with my beard now, but the swelling is still a bit more on the right side. They say it takes 3 months for things to really settle down. Even 8 days after not a single person noticed so we are probably the only ones really noticing any assymetry.

Thanks so much. I still have not shaved since my procedure on the 18th
Good luck with your recovery.
