PicoSure Laser Removal of Microblading -- My Journey

UPDATED FROM 1MarylandMom

6 months out from 4th/last Picosure session

Hi everyone. I decided to give a little update since there is not much information out there on this subject, and I hope this will be helpful to others. I am now 6 months from my 4th/last Picosure treatment session. There is a small amount of fading since my last shared photos, but there is still a residual yellow/brown shadow in the areas where there is no natural hair to cover it. I do wear bangs so I probably could go out without makeup, but I'm still self-conscious. Even going to exercise, I dab on a wee bit of concealer at the fronts and arches of my brows where the yellow/brown shadow is. It's quick so if I have to do this forever, well, I guess I'll do it forever. I'm still hoping with time they will continue to completely fade away. Maybe I'll return for another laser treatment, but I'm just not ready right now, and the place I went to is an hour from home. This has been and still is an emotional journey for me. I still think there is great microblading out there, and I have seen it, but for whatever reason whether it be technique, quality of ink, or my skin, it just did not work out for me. I'm not sure I have the guts to trust another artist because if it is just the way my skin takes the ink, then I'll be down the same road with gray/blue brows in time. The thought of that is nauseating frankly. So, I hope that my journey is helpful for others. I have no new photos to share since there really is not a significant change since my last set. I'll give it more time, and if I see more fading, I'll definitely post more photos.

Thank you! Curious if you lost any brow hair from the laser treatments?
I am post 2 picosure treatments and I haven’t lost any brow hair!
Thank u! How's it going? I'm considering but I really don't want to loose any brows haha
Oh I'm reading your review now!!! Thank u will def follow your progress!
Hi Natijackson! I did not lose any brow hairs from the treatments. After each laser treatment, my brow hairs did turn white for a period of time, but I just used tinted brow gel on them until the color returned. It did not take long to return to their natural color.
Hey Marland mom. I had a bad experience with microblading as well and it looks like laser removal is in my future. Thanks for sharing your story. There is a place in Reston Virginia called IDArtsy. If you are ready to try microblading again I know 4 women who have gotten beautiful microblading from Lizzeth. Wish I had gone to her. :(
Hi! i just wanted to say thanks for sharing your experience. Hoping you'll share more photos of how things are fading!
Thank you for sharing. I'm going for my first laser appointment in two weeks. It has been an agonizing journey... I've done so much damage to my brows through microblading and saline removal (never worked) and then trying to redo/reshape/etc... and, the guilt that I did this to myself might be the worst part. I doubt mine will be able to be fully removed but I'd rather dab on concealer too.

Photos of a week out from Picosure session #4 - still fading.

I took a few photos a week out from my 4th Picosure session. Over this week, the bruising subsided, my skin peeled (hated that) and I had a few hive-like bumps with a lot of itching. It seemed to be a reaction to the ink particles being broken up. I used hydrocortisone cream on my skin and took oral Benadryl for a few nights, and it cleared up quickly. These pics were taken on day 7, the color has faded further, and no swelling. Covering the remaining shadow with makeup is so simple now, and I really could go workout without makeup although that one spot toward the center on my right brow still makes me feel a little self-conscious. I normally wear bangs so no one else would even notice I'm sure. I did have a regular appointment with my dermatologist yesterday, and he gave me a prescription for Retin-A hoping that will help fade the remaining shadow which the Picosure tech thinks might be just hyperpigmentation and not residual ink (and maybe work on my 55-year-old wrinkles -- lol). I'll give the Retin-A a few months and reevaluate in November or December whether I have another laser treatment. I'm hoping not. From now on I'll just use eyebrow pencil for my sparse brown. No more microblading for me.

Looks great!! I am so happy for you!
Plucky I jut bought Revitabrow, I will try it on and let you know how it goes, is quite expensive so hopefully it works!
Awesome! Can’t wait to hear how it works!
That's amazing! Really happy for you, I'm having a third laser session this Saturday and hope the ink left (brown, yellowish and some red) will be gone! I have a wedding the 5th of October and would like to have some eyebrow hair!
Fpioneer, please keep us updated with pics. I got my prescription for Retin-A and hope to see further fading over the coming months.
Hey Fpioneer! Did you have your third session?
Hi Maryland! Yes, an abolirles over the moon with the results, I will write my journey and upload photos so you can all see my progress! Big hug
I'm so glad to hear that, Fpioneer!!!!! Can't wait to see your pics. I think mine have faded a wee bit more in the last couple weeks, and I actually went out in public with NO makeup for the first time in over 2 years. What a free feeling it is. Hoping mine will fade completely given enough time.
Hi there! I have been following the stories of red/yellow eyebrows after removal as I am in the same situation at the moment. I am really curious to hear your experience and outcome of your last treatment. Did you have another laser treatment?
Can you post an update please??
I am so happy to hear that y’all both are doing great! And yay for going out without makeup marylandmom!! I feel like mine has faded a bit more also!!

Picosure Session #4

Only a few photos today an hour after my 4th Picosure treatment for microblading removal. A combination of wavelengths was used to aggressively treat whatever remaining ink is left. I feel a bit bruised and stingy with a tiny bit of swelling but clearly, nothing significant. In the photos I'm slathered with Aquaphor. Some hairs turned white again, but as before, they do return to brown with time. My provider thinks the remaining discoloration is hyperpigmentation as opposed to oxidation or remaining ink, and I'll be reading more on that subject. He thinks I should wait a few months before deciding whether to treat with the laser again or possibly try a prescription fade cream to see if that does the trick. I have an appointment with my dermatologist in a couple weeks for my general skin check, and I'll see what he thinks. I've come a long way since starting this removal process almost 4 months ago. I hope that time will bring my skin back to a state where I don't need to use makeup to leave the house. Not sure I posted my age before, but I'm 55 so disregard my wrinkles -- lol. I'll post more update photos as the healing process continues.

You look great! Honestly I don’t think you even need make up to go out! Looking forward to see how fading goes! And def let me know what your dr says about a cream too fade it as I was thinking the same thing!
The results are amazing! I think you should be able to walk around makeup free =') May I ask which wavelengths your provider used? Big hug
I had 2 sessions at 755 nm which left me with bright red. Then I switched providers (because my original one did not have the 532 nm upgrade with her Picosure) and had 2 sessions at 532 nm. The color has faded even more in the week since my 4th session (I'll post another couple pics). I'm very happy with the results.
Just checking back with you! I haven’t heard anything so I assume it is good news! Have they faded more? How has the cream from the derm worked?
The results from my 4th session were really good. I got a prescription from my dermatologist for Retin-A, and I've been using it a few times a week (because it is so drying and causes peeling I can't seem to use it daily). There is definitely still a shadow where the microblading once was, but it only bothers me at the center (closest to nose). I may eventually go back for another PicoSure session, but I decided to give it a good 6 months and then decide. How about you, Plucky??? I've been checking for updates on your progress.
That’s awesome! Mine has faded a little more but is still yellow for sure! I just add a little skin colored concealer over the yellow and then feel comfortable without full makeup! I am also like you, I would love to do another session but getting it some time! Glad you are doing good!
