I spent two years researching my breast...

I spent two years researching my breast augmentation, I originally wanted it done in Australia but with the cost being over $10k, or with a surgeon I could not find any information about and paying around $6000. I started considering my options in Thailand due to cost. I then began researching all different plastic surgeons in Thailand and Dr V kept popping up and the reviews where always extremely positive and his clients beyond pleased with the results. I easily found Dr V's working portfolio on line and also found out a lot of information about him through cosmetic holiday groups, again everything was always positive.
Once I had decided to go with Dr V I began researching PIAC hospital and found nothing but positive feedback. I like the idea of going through a medical holiday company and then began researching, at this time in AUstralia there was a lot of not so positive feedback about Cosmetic Institute but was seeing really positive feedback about Cosmeditour and liked that they helped organise everything from accommodation, transfers and making contact with Dr V. Another positive was that they guaranteed full sedation and not twilight sedation, as some women (young) were having heart attacks by having their procedures conducted this way, but it allowed the procedure to be cheaper.
Once I paid my deposit with Cosmeditour, I had to take a number of extremely flattering photos of my breasts which were sent to Dr V for his recommendations. It took about two weeks to get the recommendation from him, but this was not a issue as I am sure so many women ask for the recommendations and don't proceed, so the number of emails he would receive would be very high and he also has to work at the same time. He suggested Mentor Tear Drop implants, Dual Plane. As I had also investigated different implant types I was initially of the opinion that I did not want Tear Drops as they were firmer than round and there was a possibility of them rotating. Although I did not want the Tear Drops, Cosmeditour wanted me to pay an additional $1900 for the Tear Drop as this was the recommendation from Dr V. After some discussion with Cosmeditour they agreed to remove the additional cost for the tear drop implant. I then started to book my flights and confirm surgery dates. I would suggests securing a date with Dr V before arranging your flights as he is a busy man and there was a couple of weeks before my desired surgery date was confirmed and I was worried that I may have had to change my flights, but it worked out fine.
In April of this year I headed off to Thaiand with my partner for my surgery, I was very nervous and even began questioning my decision to proceed with the surgery, was I making a mistake??? (NO) I was picked up from my hotel and taken to PIAC where I met with Arawun my Cosmeditour consultant prior to my consult with Dr V.
My heart rate was checked and I was off to see Dr V for my consultation. He was great, he spoke perfect English and took as much time as I needed to help me make my decision. Despite my initial want for round implants Dr V discussed with me that due to my small frame the breast fold would need to be lowered about 1.5cm towards to rib cage to fit in the round implant with the 330cc's that I had Chosen and he raised concerns that I may get double bubble and after further consideration and that when I felt the Tear Drop implant it was not hugely firmer than the round, I went with his recommendations. I should note that every single person I spoke with who had had breast augmentation said go bigger, so I did as that advice was consistent with everyone, so instead of 250 to 275cc's I went with 300cc's but due to the dual plan placement 10% of the volume would be lost under the muscle so Dr V recommended 330cc's which I agreed to.
At the time of my consult I had my period, so Dr V also recommended that we delay the procedure date to avoid any complications such as blood clots or infection and as I had booked enough time, I was happy to do this.
The day of my surgery, I cried, they were nervous tears but I was very excited and comfortable with my choice of doctors, I think tears are a normal part of making this decision, it is a huge decision and it really is major surgery so this is probably very normal...I hope! My surgery was slightly delayed but I did not mind as I had a lovely room with a TV and my own shower, the hospital was very new, everything was clean and all the nurses and staff were very caring and professional at PIAC.
Next thing I know I am being taken for my surgery, the nerves were there for about five minutes but before I knew it I was given the general anaesthetic and was being wheeled back into my room. I was told that once my drains were cleared I would be ok to leave hospital. I did not have any pain as I was given morphine. Whilst lying down my drains would begin to clear but once I moved to go to toilet or walk around, they would fill up again so I had to stay in hospital for two days and by the second day the morphine was making me feel sick it was stopped. It was at this time that I began to experience back pain. I am a side sleeper and was finding it uncomfortable having to sleep on my back. (I was worried I might just roll on my side but your body just knows that it cannot) I would recommend a hot water bottle just in case and Tiger Balm which was my life saver.
As soon as I saw my breasts they were massive considering what I had come from and I was also very swollen and tight. But I knew that they were perfect straight away. I was give a boob tube to wear day and night which was to help push the implant down and into place. I was booked 6 days later to have my stitches removed. As the days went on I could feel swelling subsiding but the heat appeared to make them swell a little, but that was nothing to worry about. I was so happy with the end result when Dr V removed my stitches I had to hug him. I put a dress on and although when I look in the mirror and see what is now to me very very large breasts in tops and dresses, I look like I did before when I was wearing a really good push up bra. This was exactly what I wanted.
I could not be more happier and highly recommend Dr V, he was amazing, nothing was rushed, he was patient, explained every option to you in great detail outlining the pro's and cons and even discussed different ways to go about the procedure to use the original implants that I wanted, but he made me feel so confident that I had to stick with his original recommendations as I wanted them to be perfect. I am only 3 weeks post op and cannot wait to see what they will be like in three months when the swelling has completely gone and the implants have settled. I love them, I have experienced a little pain under my arms, due to the dual plan placement but can raise my arms but still cannot push or pull strongly at the moment. Dr V all I can say I thank you very much, you have changed my body for the better and I wish I had done this so many years ago! Dr V is a talented man and if you are considering going to Thailand for breast surgery, he is the man, he is a breast augmentation guru!!!
