Labiaplasty and Clitoral Hood Reduction with Dr Sanguan, PPSI (Wedge Method)

I wrote out a whole review with pictures and then it all got wiped! Anyway I wanted to write my own review on labiaplasty because reading so many others really helped me. Also because I haven't seen many from in Thailand and none with my surgeon!
I'm 29, no kids and have always been very self conscious of my labia minora. Apart from being uncomfortable in jeans/tights/lace underwear I don't like the way it looks. I found out about this procedure about 5 years ago and not having steady work I thought I would never be able to get it done. It costs minimum $5000 in Australia. I decided to get a BL/BA so thought why not get it done all at once! All up it cost me 270,000 baht which is around $10,500-10,600. The labiaplasty with clitoral hood reduction was 60,000 baht and breast procedure 210,000.
I had done endless research and decided to go with Dr Sanguan Kunaporn. He has really been amazing. He makes you immediately comfortable and is very easy to talk to. All of my questions were answered and I had complete trust in his skills. At my consult he said he would do a wedge method labia minora reduction and also reduce the clitoral hood or it wouldn't look right.
Right after I woke up from the general anaesthetic the only pain I felt was a burning around my labia. I didn't feel pain in my breasts and the burning mostly went away with the pain relief they gave me. When I was taken back to my room they gave me an ice pack and I had a self-administering morphine drip which I didn't use at all. I had a catheter too which was a relief not to have to worry about that!
I stayed one night in hospital and Dr Sanguan came to see me the next day. He said I could be discharged because I hadn't used the pain relief and seemed to be doing well. He said one side of the labia was a lot more swollen than the other but not to worry as they were the same when he did the operation. I expected this anyway from reading other people's experiences. My care instructions were to wash/rinse the area after going to the toilet and rub an antibacterial ointment on the incisions each time. Thankfully most toilets in Thailand come with a hose next to them!
Leaving the hospital I was waddling a bit to avoid rubbing. I wore bamboo cotton underwear for about a week and no underwear when sleeping. Also all loose clothes! I didn't do much the day of leaving the hospital or the next. My labia was quite swollen but not as bad as I was expecting and getting better every day. We are staying a good half hour walk from the main road/shopping and on the third day we went down and spent the day out. I walked home too (with a few readjustments lol) without any problems.
The recovery has been so easy! I thought I would be bed bound for a week or more hardly able to walk and with a constant ice pack but I've been fine. The incisions are healing well with no sign of separation. They are so tidy! He has done a beautiful job. They get itchy now and then but I put some ointment on and it settles down.
The sutures should start to dissolve in the next few days. He said I can go swimming at the 2 week mark but I'll see how I'm feeling. I'm so happy I have had this done! I already feel a million times better about myself :) hopefully the next few weeks the swelling goes down even more. I'll put up some photos.

Hello. Your results look quite stunning with your labia and hood reduced yet retaining a completely natural look. I should think you are delighted to have taken the brave decision to undergo surgery. Then there's the comfort and hopefully a big emotional boost too.
It look like you really did research your surgeon well. The incisions on your labia and hood seem to have been done with great care and precision, so when the skin was matched up and stitched there was a good, clean meeting of tissue. The stitches are very close together and again seem to have been done with precision for good healing and superb results.
You look to be healing fantastically well and have been very patient and careful so far, so please think about having 'non-pure' water from swimming getting into your healing incisions before the skin has formed as one again.
I wish you well on your continued good healing (for all of your procedures).

Thank you for your lovely comment :) there wasn't actually any information about my surgeon with this procedure but he is famous for gender reassignment and I thought that was good enough for me. And now having seen his work I couldn't be happier!
The surgeon said I could swim after two weeks which will be Friday but I'm not sure I will want to as the sutures haven't dissolved yet. I don't swim regularly but as we are still on holidays it would have been nice to go a couple times.

Did he show you pictures of any other labiaplasty procedures he had done? Or does he have any before / afters online? I'm really considering getting mine done in Thailand also but I'm still soo scared. My labia need so much work lol, I really need someone good!

Yes he's in Phuket at PPSI :) I didn't ask for photos, I was a bit nervous but very confident in his ability. One lady told me about her experience with him and even though I didn't see photos it reassured me. He's amazing! All the sutures have finally come out and it looks like it's halved in size!

Sorry I haven't updated for awhile, we had to change hotels for the last 5 nights and the wifi was terrible! So was the lighting lol.
The stitches all started to come out last weekend so about 2 weeks post op. And thank god because it was getting so itchy. Now that they're out the swelling has gone done heaps! I'm so in love! There are a couple of tiny imperfections but I don't care. That's the risk with surgery and it's 200% better than what it was so I'm incredibly happy.
I'm able to wear jeans and tights again - I started wearing some last weekend but it was so hot in Thailand it didn't last long. The scars are hardly noticeable. I'll upload some more pics :) excuse the hair I haven't shaved since the op!

Hello and my goodness, your results continue to look fantastic, absolutely brilliant. I can see why you're happy.
Whatever you've been doing in terms of looking after yourself, continue doing it as your care is certainly paying off.

I saw online this surgon went to jail :/ doing a procedure he wasn't trained for and the woman passed away under anesthetic!

I assure you he didn't lol. He's the surgeon who founded PPSI and their most senior one. There are several Dr Sanguan's maybe a different one did? I know there are several dodgy surgeons but I did months and months worth of research and found all of them at PPSI/PIAC had glowing reputations. I hope you find a good one :)
