PDT Induced Rosacea Symptoms

33yr old female here. I had PDT for an AK spot on my forehead. I decided to go with this treatment to avoid hypopigmentation spots from freezing lesions. I also have a history of sun exposure and my dermatologist raved about this treatment and how it has no long term side effects and how safe it is and helps rid sun damage and dry patches. I received the treatment over my entire face. I had a VERY severe reaction with intense redness, swelling, burning pain. The morning after I had a pustular reaction all over my face and my derm was shocked and thought I had an infection. It took a week to get my culture back and it was not an infection it was just part of the reaction that some individuals may have. I do not have a history of acne but I do have very oily skin. The pustules resolved within a few days and the swelling and intense redness and peeling within a week. 3 months have passed since I had this treatment and I have red blotchy patches all over my face that flare up. I even have redness under my ear where my derm accidentally got the medication on my neck. I now have sensitive skin and reactive skin that I never had in the past. I went to a different derm and they said it looks like rosacea. I'm not sure if this will get better on it's own or if I will have long term effects needing laser treatments to help this. I strongly advise weighing the pros and cons before getting this treatment as it may create more long term issues...

How are you? It's one year later. Are you still having rosacea issues? You and I have had a similar experience with PDT. Mine is more recent, though. So I'm curious how you are?
