PDT for Actinic Keratosis

Had the PDT done today. After reading reviews, I was so nervous for the treatment but it was a piece of cake. I sat with Levulan on for an hour then I sat under the light for 16 minutes and 41 seconds (so random). There was a slight stinging/burning but nothing intolerable at all. I’m about 2 hours post treatment and my skin is slightly pink and a little bit tight but it just feels like a minor sunburn.

I will update with more information as the days go on.

A little more red today. No discomfort really. Again, just feels like a minor sunburn. Spots where I had AKs are the most red and a bit swollen, which makes me hopeful that they will crust and fall off.

This procedure was so hyped up that I was expecting to be mangled for like a week. I rescheduled it several times bc of work travel that came up. Truthfully, 24 hours is really the downtime. Today I had minimal redness/dryness, mostly in the spots that had sun damage. Nothing I cldnt cover with makeup. I went to the gym in the morning then went to brunch with zinc on for sunscreen and sat outside in direct sunlight and I was fine.
