Omnilux and Levulan Photodymanic Blue Light Therapy

I have had cystic acne my whole life that causes me extreme discomfort. Sometimes the cysts on my face are so bad that they cause the lymph nodes on my head and neck to swell up to the size of marbles! A dermatologist at "Riverchase Dermatology" in Fort Myers Florida, recommended that I try Omnilux and Levulan Photodymanic Blue Light Therapy. I am supposed to get it three times, five weeks apart. This is my journey!

how has your skin been since doing the treatment? I have my first session booked in 2 weeks and I'm still unsure. I'm 26 and have tried everything, but I was told this is not a long-term fix, and results only last for 1 year or so. I read online it could also cause premature aging.

So this is my poor picture. I got to the office, she washed my face, then she applied the Levulan Kerastick all over my face. It stinks, but no side effects. Then I was told to go wait in the lobby for two hours. And let the chemical set.

After the chemical had sat on my face for two hours, she took me back to the room and positioned me in front of the blue light. She warned me that it would be very hot and painful. She was right. But it only lasted 5 minutes and I took it like a champ. I didn’t have to use the little cooling air wand that she said most people (men lol) have to use midtreatment to get a relief from the heat. My face was horribly red. Like horrible. She applied a tinted sunscreen, gave me the goofiest hat I’ve ever seen lol, and sent me home. She said to cover my face in Vaseline and use a very gentle cleanser, and don’t go into the sunlight for two days or it could cause a severe burn! This is me, roughly 2 hours after the procedure.
