Tired of being told I just need to "workout more or harder", it was actually a relief to be told by a doctor that no amount of exercise will get rid of the extra skin, overhang or the separation of my ab muscles. I'm now 9-days pre-op.
I chose Dr. Leverett because he's double board certified which means he's an actual general surgeon AND a PS so that made my husband and I more comfortable with this decision. Out of all the consults, he also made me the most comfortable and it felt like we were on the same page as far as my results.

Good luck next week. I am sure you are excitedly nervous. Keep us updated on your progress as one of the early December TTers going through this.

That annoyed me about my doc. Have I exercised?! I do everyday. I am healthier than him. I eat well..nothing fixes it. Keep getting bad backs due to poor posture.
I told him out of courtesy I was having the TT with muscle repair op privately, all I got was negative responses...and that he will treat me for any problems after..like there would be plenty!
Really annoyed at his ignorance.
It is so relieving to get a professional opinion.
Not long for you now, go for it. Wish you all the best.

Ok. I think I'm ready. My mom in law is here to take care of the kids while I recover. My SX outfit is laid out: baggy sweatpants (recommended by the MA, it's easier for the nurses to put on you afterwards especially with the drains which there will be 3), a front clasp sports bra and a zip up jacket (they said you don't wany to try to put on a regular bra after or attempt to pull something over your head). I'm taking a pillow to leave in the car to protect my tummy from the seatbelt, my meds and my ID.
Am I missing anything?

Embrace Scar Therapy

I've decided to go with Embrace for my scar management. It's quite a bit of an extra expense but my husband pouted out that I didn't come this far to penny pinch on a very important part of recovery. I scar fairly easily and my c-section scar is hypertrophic so I don't want to take any chances.
Does anyone else scar easily and have had successful results using Embrace?

No workout in the world will fix the Ab muscles and extra skin. I tried the same thing and failed..LOL I will be excited to see your before and after pictures.
