WORTH IT$10,000
Since the birth of my 2nd baby, who was 10lbs 2oz, i have had a stomach. I figured it was my new normal and would eventually go away when I decided to get in shape. In 2012 I had my 3rd (and last) baby. Fast forward 5 years, I decided it was time to work out, finally focus on me. I joined an all women's fitness boot camp and to my surprise I loved it! And then...the bulge. With every crunch I did, I noticed this oddly shaped bulge popping out and my pesky stomach was not improving at all. Thinking I had a hernia, I went to my doctor and got a CT Scan and the results show diastasis recti. So, that led me to plastic surgery. I went on 3 consultations and the 3rd doctor was the one. I immediately began saving for a tummy tuck. My stomach is literally the one thing on my body that bothers me and just doesn't belong with the rest of me. I cannot imagine going through life with this stomach and constantly being ask when I'm due, or if I'm expecting. My family is supportive of my decision and although I know it will be a tough road, I'm ready for the challenge! I am scheduled to have a tummy tuck with full muscle repair and Lipo to my flanks on 8/29/17.

How I chose my doctor...

In my previous post I mentioned that I went on 3 consultations. I liked the first doctor, and I actually met and talked with one of his assistants who recently had a TT by him and she looked amazing. Being that is was my first plastic surgery consultation ever...I had no idea what to expect, lots of information. Second consult was a hard no. It was awful and I couldn't wait to leave. The doctor didn't care what I wanted, he wanted to do what he thought I needed. Third doctor - loved his office, his assistant, he spent a lot of time with me, was very informative. He brought up things the other 2 doctors didn't. Just seemed more thorough overall. So it was between doctor #1 and doctor #3. Doctor #1 was cheaper, closer to my house, but had less than 5 years experience. Doctor #3 is more expensive, double board certified, had better financing options, has over 21 years experience, but was a little bit of a further drive from my house. I ended up choosing doctor #3 based on his experience and thoroughness with me. I also feel like my body type is similar to his before and after pictures. Although I'm super confident in his abilities, I have this silly fear...what if he can't fix me? Like what of I wake up and my stomach looks the same? Does anyone else out there have this fear?

I hear you! I have three kids, diastasis and an umbilical hernia. I have worked out like crazy (gotten down to 119 lbs at one point) and nothing changes! Eating has been on point. Sometimes I thought bl some of us just need help to bounce back. I have all of your fears too. I'm scheduled for my TT 9/22/17 and scared to death! We are going to be fine! I

DeeMari I'm glad to have found someone having their surgery near mine, and with the same silly fears lol! I'm not scared (yet), but I'm sure the closer I get I will get more nervous. I will post some before pictures as it gets closer. My pre-op doctor appointment is 1 week from Monday. Have you already had yours? I haven't bought anything to prepare for this because I don't know what exactly I'll need. We already have a recliner chair and I borrowed a walker from my mom. Other than that, I'm just watching the clock!!

Being just two days post, I'm so glad I've had this surgery. It is hard not being able to be independent and yes my back aches from being bent over but I've really had very little pain. I was so worried going into it but it's been much much easier than I thought. I've even managed a shower by myself!

I'm so happy you're doing well post surgery! I cannot wait for my turn. As forbthe shower, anything you recommend having....like a shower stool or hand held shower head? I've been wondering if I should buy one or both or just wait and see?
August 6, 2017
I know others said shower stool is good but I didn't end up buying one. I took my first shower 6 days po (only because I was scared of taking binder off and the unveiling) I did sponge baths and used cleaning wipes before the shower. The shower was so refreshing but the stool and hand shower head isn't necessary but I would say it's just a nice to have. Shower is totally do able and manageable without it. I put one hand on the shower wall for balance only when necessary and did find without the stool or hand shower head.

You're going to have beautiful results! I just had my mommy makeover a week ago and had a lot of the same fears as you. I ended up choosing the doctor with double Board certifications, long clean track record and most importantly results that he can reproduce over and over. He makes the best belly buttons of anyone in my state. There's a reason he calls himself Dr. Results. He is the most expensive surgeon in the area (more so than the popular Dr. Miami). As with all things, you get what you pay for. Especially with plastic surgery. I was treated like a star from the moment I stepped into his office. Still am with text messaging the nurses with any questions and they all have the best bedside manner. I wish you the best of luck and feel free to message me should you have any questions.

Nope, no baby in there! Ugh...

So, here are some pictures. Only about 3 more weeks to go to get this mess fixed!
