almost back to normal
I had written out this eariler then I lost it all....
I have had a set back as I think I may have over done it and at around day 10 or so two spots along my incision has opened up from I think from having to sit on the toilet and maybe walking too much too soon. PS prescribed Silver Sulfadiazine cream and I see her on Tuesday. Hopefully, I haven't made a costly mistake by doing too much too soon. My tummy tuck appeared better the first 1.5 weeks but after having to sit on the toilet, getting off the couch (even though I try to use obliques and not the rectus muscles) I have felt several pulling/tearing and slightly painful sensations above my suture line which resulted in pin point bruises over where it hurts. There is a little bulging on my left side and I'm hoping it is just swelling. UGH!!
I absolutely hate having to go to the bathroom sitting down is torture, I am going to buy a shewee or a female urinal thing so I can pee standing up without getting it all over myself. As, for bowel movements man those narcs really make you constipated. I stopped taking them 5 days PO and had a BM 8 days PO after eating a whole bag of prunes as the Ducolax was not helping. My gut still isn't back to normal and I still smell like the anesthesia used is detoxifying from my body. Prunes not really working anymore and I switched to Miralax for stool softeners but the best thing I have used was enemas. I'm now 16 days PO and have had 3 BM, I feel better but I still think there is more up in my intestines. But at least I'm not as miserable. I used a bucket in the shower to use and helped as I was able to hover and then shower after.
I didn't take my own preop pics wish I did but I have lots of PO and once the PS shares my preop I will post.
Key is to be patient and no matter the cabin fever you have resist going out and doing too much. Even though I discussed my demanding school schedule (dental student and only had limited time off) my doctor told me I could return to school with only a 2 wk recovery time. I think 3 or even 4 weeks would have been most beneficial for me.
So far happy getting the TL just not happy with my stupid A$$ for probably doing too much too soon.
Provider Review
My PS is great, caring and very professional. I never felt rushed, judged or pushed into making this this decision. My overall health prior to surgery was of TOP concern as well as her view/recommendations on the outcomes/expectations. She is straight forward, knowledgeable and very genuine. During our initial meeting she took all the time I needed to ask questions and she answered them fully. Her staff are all very friendly and her nurse is awesome! Always, returned my numerous, paranoid phone calls. I know some surgeons are known for their lack of a bedside manner but I have no complaints about my PS.
