WORTH IT$50,000
Dr. Bajnrauh showed patience and perseverance in helping me find my real preferences during my stressful breast cancer diagnosis. I was happy with my body before and appreciate him helping me to keep it that way. His staff deserves kudos for their effective support before and after surgery too.
I love that he had two plans sketched pre-surgery. It reassured me I would have the best outcome, no matter what was found. It’s five weeks since he surgically lifted and reconstructed my left breast in tandem with Dr. Linda Liu’s cancer lumpectomy. I’m sure his pre-planning is what minimized my scarring. The post-surgical supportive film, invisible stitches and pretty comfy breast binder I woke up in helped me tremendously those first two weeks. The lift and reduction of my right breast to match its partner is as beautiful as it can be. Both my nipples retain sensation and reactivity as I had hoped too. He did just as I requested! I am healing well and unless I tell people, they do not realize I have been changed. My other doctors in this breast cancer war; Dr. Liu, MD and Dr. Kato, MD have both wholeheartedly praised his work when they saw post surgery too.
I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone needing breast cancer reconstruction or a beautifying breast reduction. I am very grateful to have him as my plastic surgeon.

My breast reconstruction and lumpectomy were done the same day at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Piper Surgery Center as an outpatient. Two surgeons in the same OR at the same time. So the bill was pretty scary at $50,000. However our co-pay ended up being around $1,500..00

Piper Surgery Center at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Hospital

I asked my general surgeon why the Piper Surgery Center instead of the Mayo Clinic which is almost as close. She said, "The Piper Center has mostly healthy patients so less chance of cross infections from contagious hospitalization patients."
That made sense to me and my experience was ok. There is a lot of departmental separation at Scottsdale Healthcare facilities so a lot of building to building travel for my pre-op prep which was confusing.
I did buy a bottle of Hibiclens from Walgreens on sale for $11.00 to wash with the morning of surgery. I used it both before my lumpectomy / reconstruction + reduction and for the Chemo Port surgery latter. I believe it helped decrease my chance of infection significantly. All my doctors were impressed I was prepared to avoid staph infection. Read the directions completely before use as it can harm eyes and some delicate private tissues.
