So here we are..just turned 28 and finally decided to get braces, lingual braces was an absolute must for me. Either that or invisalign which I don't think I would have had the discipline for long term.
I am an expat from Australia living in Cambodia. First off dental in Cambodia is incredible - professional and affordable. I went with RoomChange Dentists who have 30 years in the country and a solid reputation with international dentists, nurses as well as local staff. My dentist recommended lingual braces to me and I jumped at the chance, it costs $2000USD for the full package and in Australia that would have been around $5-$6000AUD easily.
My teeth always bothered me being over crowded so this is purely an aesthetic reason why I am getting them and I'm glad I finally have. It has been 72 hours since getting them on the process took maybe 2.5 hours which was fine, it felt like it flew by! At first I was able to leave the dentist and go straight to food (chicken/mash) easy to get through however I ate much slower than usual.
Around 4 hours later a slow dull very tolerable ache in my molars started which progressed into a less tolerable ache. Took some paracetamol, went to bed, no worries. Day two the dull ache moved to my front teeth and that was more irritating, as well as the expected lisp which was worse than I expected however speaking slow is far less noticable and IS getting better. Again some paracetamol late in the day and definitely became more pleasant however I started to notice some rubbing on my tongue against the very TINY end of a wire on my far rear right molar.
Day 3 - the rubbing against my tongue was irritating me to no end and I had to drop into the dentist. this was easily solved placing some composite seal over the top to stop the rubbing at no extra cost/with no appointment and took less than 5 minutes to sort out. With the added welcome to return for more composite if it came off. As my teeth move the wire will get longer and will be easier to cut. The sensitivity of my top teeth is far less and not as noticable, I can easily chew with my back teeth just a little slower. That is my first update for now and I will ad pictures later. Overall I am extremely happy with this decision and look forward to seeing the results over the coming months. No doubt these are far more comfortable braces than most and my dentist used a new technique, noting that my braces are closer to the gum line, less noticable and extremely comfortable.

Incredible Dr, very matter of fact, no bull approach. Tells it like it is and I appreciate that to no end. Received a phone call the following day to check in with me and see how it was going and if I felt any discomfort. I am also able to pay by the month for my braces which is appreciated and they understand I wont be running away with a mouth full of metal!
