Chin Augmentation with Doctor Raynald Torres
Today is the 12th-day post op. My chin feels stiff. I can barely open my mouth coz it hurts when I try to have a big bite. Tomorrow my surgeon will remove the sutures and the tape under my chin. I read in Realself that it's gonna take at least 1 month to fully recover from chin surgery. I don't know... This feels weird. I hope it gets better over time.
Upper blepharoplasty in the Philippines
I forgot to tell the story why I had my eyes done... I have excess skin in my eyelid that makes my eyes smaller, I was born with it. I want to see my eyelid so I can put eye makeup on it and make my eyes big and brighter. Initially, I want to have this procedure first. Then I will do rhino and chin after. But I decided to do all together so I can experience only one downtime. I'm on my 8th day today post-op. My eyes feels better but I can't really look up for a long time coz the sutures had been removed just 3 days ago. I put some tear lube for dry eyes relief. So far, I like how my eyes look. I still have scars but I'm sure it will take time to get rid of it. I have another follow-up with my surgeon on the 2nd of June. So we'll see. :-)
Since I was a kid, I've been getting teased a lot...
Since I was a kid, I've been getting teased a lot because of my flat Asian nose. My aunt would ask me, "Thea, where's your nose?" Then she would answer herself, "No more!" And she would teach me the hand gesture for none or nothing. Then the whole family will all laugh. I was like 3 or 4 years old at that time. Just like in Pixar's movie, "Inside Out", I kept that childhood memory in my "long term memory lane". I didn't really think about my nose that much coz I was a kid. All I wanna do is play with my friends and be happy. But when I reach puberty, I started becoming conscious with my appearance. I would stay infront of the mirror for a long time trying to fix my face and I would pinch the bridge of my nose hoping to make it narrower. If only my Abracadabra would work, I'll try to memorize magic spells like Harry Potter. Little did I know, nose bridge pinching could harm some nerve in my nose. Good job Thea! You just made your nose uglier. I went to school for few days with brown lines on the side of my bridge. I must say, that was so embarrasing. I got tease a lot, that's why I hate Highschool. Lotsa bullies.
In college, I started learning about makeup but Youtube tutorial videos about facial contouring weren't popular at that time yet so all I have to do was trial and error. Then I got a boyfriend, he's all sweet and all at the beginning then he said something that I will never forget. "When we have a baby, I don't want her to have your nose. She'll get my nose and she can have your eyes." What a douchebag! Obviously, that boyfriend is now an ex.
Fast forward today, I'm now independent and have financial freedom. I learned to embrace my flaws but whenever I look at the mirror in the morning, I just hate this big fatty nose of mine. My partner told me that I should get it done, we only have one life, we should do what will make us HAPPY. And he was right, maybe I should consider getting my nose fix. When I was in the US, I have a good friend who became a surrogate mom. She told me that she will get a double D cups and tummy tuck as a way of treating herself and feeling more confident about herself after giving birth. When I got back in the Philippines, I did a lot of reserch about Rhinoplasty and started reading about surgeon reviews in Manila. I went to see Dr. Eric Yapjuangco of The Icon, Dr. Benjamin Tan Alonzo of Beaufaces, Dr. Jay Recasata of Faces and Curves, Dr. Evangelina Macaraeg Sison of Shimmian Manila Tomas Morato branch, Dr. Levi John Lansangan of Shimmian Manila Medical Plaza and lastly, Dr. Raynald Torres of Enhancements Cosmetic Plastic Surgery.
I don't really wanna say anything bad with other doctors about my consultation, you can do your own research about them, everything is on the internet anyways. Among all the 6 doctors I saw, I must say, Dr. Torres is the most professional one. He didn't let me wait for more than 2 hours like other doctors did, and he made me feel comfortable. He explains all the procedure to me and I didn't feel rushed.
I booked my surgery date after seeing him and paid my procedure 5 days later. When my partner arrived from the US, we went to Centuria Medical Center last 20th of May, 2017. That's last week. Today is now the 27th. I'm on my 7th day post op and I'm feeling a lil better now compared the last few days. The swelling has subside, bruises are still visible but not that obvi. I recorded my surgery journey and I will post the videos after I edit them. To those who are planning to have their nose done, please do a lot of research and pick a good doctor with good reputation. Remember you only got one life, don't think about what other people will say. Just do you. Do what makes you happy. :)
Goodluck!

Provider Review
Dr. Raynald Torres
I talked to 6 plastic surgeons in Manila, he is the most professional one. He didn't let me wait for hours, he explained everything in details, and most importantly, he is an expert with Rhinoplasty. The incision is on the inside of your nose, so the scarring will be minimal. I can't wait to see the final result of my nose! I read in Realself that it will take few months before you can finally see how it would look like. So we'll see. :)
