WORTH IT$7,000

I had Smart/ Tumescent Liposuction done 2 weeks ago on stomach and flanks. A week ago I looked great stomach was super flat, flanks were perfect. But, now in week 2 I look bigger and my stomach is super hard around my belly button. my flanks look fat. I am still wearing my garments and I do my massages 5 to 10 min. twice a day. Am I just being paranoid or am I just now swelling or is there a bigger problem? I am now 3 1/2 weeks in to it and now I am swelling up so much, I am still wearing my garments and doing my massages but my flanks are still very swollen and I still have lots of hard areas and new ones developing. I am not saying I am not pleased just that it looked so much better the first week. still very worried.

I can see a nice differance...and it's only 3&1/2 weeks!!!! I have been reading a lot on real self, it takes a full 3 mo. to see actual results. I have a question are you glad you did this? And did you do local annestesia or general? I have had my 2 consultations and given my RX's for before the procedure, but it's not booked yet ( office help hasn't gotten back to me on date yet.) I am doing tumesent Lipo on abs, flanks & stomach. I am reluctant to doing general annestisia because of more risks. I am 60 yrs young..ha ha. and getting a little more apprehensive as I age. Just wanted to know a little more on tumsenent Lipo under local...any comments would help. Ps if you are seeing your Dr. for post visits, you should not worry.

Hey! I am having lipo of the same areas on July 20th. I took your pic and comments to my plastic surgeon and he said that your case was normal and the hardness and swelling is common even if you feel great the first week. Your body is healing and the hard parts is the fat left over that did not come out during the procedure. Keep wearing your garments and you will improve with time. BTW you look great and you will feel better soon. I will post after my surgery, which i am extremely nervous for i might add!!!

from what i have read and what my PS has told me the hardness and swelling can last for several weeks, even months. How are you doing now? Are you feeling any better?

Hi lovefo - now that it's been a while, looking back, was the lipo worth it? Results last? Do you mind sharing your full doctor's name?

Hi I had lipo twice. Once in 12 2006, and in 8 2014. The bruising this time was horrid on tops of my thighs Bruises a meat tenderizer. All that was gone in 2weeks. I have had that tight feeling you are talking about, like if I sleep then wake, standing is stuff and sore and feels like u can't straighten like tight name numb. Been 4 weeks today and the last part that's swollen is lowest ab and the groin hurts slightly the faster I walk. Oh at first my feet and lower legs swelled so bad my knees were flat! So it seems that the discomfort level is like this this, week 1, hell, week 2 50 percent better, week 3, swollen but can Move but still can't sit up fully, week 4, no bruising just a third of swelling. My advice is as soon as you decide to have this, start shopping for a bodysuit shaper, the best one with bra cups and a tight mesh compression, with removable straps because your shoulder will hurt during sleep if not removed. This will be the suit to wear after the one is removed after the padding is gone from the doctor. The best ones will cost starting at $60. The cheap ones will not have nice enough materials to help subside swelling.

I agree with everything you said about the CG! Mine has adjustable shoulder straps and I loosen them all the way and wear my binder over the CG. Will you be posting review with pics? I think our healing is similar :)

You will be fine its quite normal to swell up which could be due to a lot of activity if your moving around a lot or also your salt intake will have an effect on how much you swell. I do see the difference from the beginning of your journey. I am now 6 weeks out you just have to be patient and know that each day it will get better and better. This definitely is no quick fix and something that we need to maintain with healthy eating n excercise (when your a few more weeks out of course) :) Happy healing!

I am looking into having my upper, lower abdomen & flanks done. Will that take care of the love handles and muffin top? Also, can you please tell me what or where you bought your bodysuit shaper (picture if you have it.) I am a little overwhelmed and scared not enough will be taken out and I may be disappointed! Also, did you have to wear a garment that had a board in the front for your abdomen?
