WORTH IT
Much like everyone else I have battled with my weight for some time now. I think I hit my highest weight and got to the breaking point. This is not my first time considering this and just wasn't ready but now I'm ready. My husband and a select few friends have become my biggest supporters and it feels great.

Hi , I had gastic sleeve on 10/17/14 , best thing I ever done & the healing was very smooth . My weight was 237 im down to 165 ..the only complaint I have is that with all the weighloss it left ugly under eye bags

Hi Kaykay1981 have you found any products that help reduce the appearance of the under eye bags?

I haven't had my sleeve surgery...but I did have a bout of Bell's palsy from another med issue, which caused severe bags and drooping one side of my face. I tried jeunesse ...and surprisinglyi it works..,Google and watch the videos. I would hope you might see some significant help from this product as well...check it out,

I had the same surgery and I tell you it will be hard at first. Your abdomin will be tight but it will feel better in about two months. Just don't over eat.

Hi lady so glad things are working out for you. I too am in the same space as everyone with the yo yo dieting. Would loose and gain and then some more. I got banded almost 3 years ago and lost 50lbs only to gain most of it back. Will be 3 years in December with no restrictions. I have always hated this band but at the time the insurance would not approve the sleeve because they say my BMI was not enough so I had to get the band or the gastric and I felt like I did not really want that so I settled for the sleeve. So now I have changed Drs and thank you Jesus the insurance pre approved my sleeve because the band was not really working for me. I will get the sleeve September 10 and I just want it to hurry up and get here so i can get it over with. I know you are happy with your WL and I am so happy for you. Keep us posted and I will do the same. Have to do my Upper GI on September 2 and I want that too to hurry up and be over lol. Be blessed but the only thing I dread if it happens is the gas pains in my shoulder. I got those with the band and it was excruciating so I am praying I do not get those. Take care

Congrats! You know what's funny I read a lot about the gas pain and was so afraid that it was going to happen to me but I had none. So stay positive 9/10 is right around the corner.

Things are moving in the right direction

I am now 3 days post op and feeling good. I have followed my doctors instructions from the beginning and it shows. I am prayerful that today will be even better for me. I have ditched the pain medication and just rely on a crushed Tylenol if needed. I have never been one to take pain meds and I figured why start now. I am finding its little difficult to get comfortable in the bed at night. I usually slept on my stomach and not sure if or when I can resume my favorite sleeping position. I am scheduled to see my doctor Friday so I will just keep a running tab of questions. I can't day it enough how excited I am to take back control of my life.

My starting weight was 282
My weight day of surgery was 258

I have my done on July 29. No pain what so ever. I did not take any pain medication in the hospital. I also had removed gallbladder that was infected with full of stones. I'm so glad I did it. I think one suggestion I can give for the future candidates if you have a chance do colonic at least 4 times before the operation. It will clear your colon and will take a lot of post-op complications away.
Other thing I found helpful to get the anti-inflammatory natural topical( if some need the name of I used please ask) and put it 2-3 times a day instead of pain killer medications over your stomach. You will feel much better and less to no pain.
I started 306lbs, pre-op 288, 5 days post-op 279 lbs

I am struggling a little with how drastic and irreversible it is. I haven't told many people so I am not sure how I'll handle my inability to eat like I used to. Lol I think I'll have to let the cat out of the bag at that point. What colonic and topical cream did you use?
August 3, 2015
I hold a select few people the rest I will simply say I'm changing my eating habits and any and all help they can give would be great.

A little tired but still encouraged

mzzzbee
So today I am 7 days post-op and I still feel great about my decision. I have my one week visit tomorrow and I am looking forward to being escalated to the next stage. I hope that with this next stage my energy will increase. I thought I would never make it this far but this has been a walk in the park even with cooking dinner for my family. Not once was I tempted to taste test nor did I have and desire to and that was great!! Oh and did I mention I kicked the pain meds by day three.

Congrats!!! Welcome to the other side... :). It's going to get so much better. It's amazing how easy it is to cook for my family or order food for them and never feel like I'm missing out. All I have to do is drink a few sips of protein or crystal light. As far as food, I'm on soft foods now and when I say all I can eat is a couple of small forks of tuna and I am stuffed!!! You will have to learn your body all over again and learn what you can and cannot eat. I've learned that I can no longer eat yogurt or certain cheeses. I'll just say it gives me a horrible violent reaction. That's the only thing I don't look forward to is finding out what else i can no longer tolerate. Keep us posted with weight loss pics!!!
