So my father has a large wide nose and my mother has a typical Italian honker; throw that together and you get my nose. I am a lacrosse player and I was drilled in the nose with a lacrosse ball at practice once day which made things pretty complicated. My breathing had been affected by it so I decided to do something about it. Last year I had a septoplasty to repair my messed up septum and that was done perfect. The septum was even and looked very nice and helped out my breathing to an extent. However, after I got hit with the lax ball a large bump appeared on my nose and I had trouble breathing yet again. So I went back to my surgeon and asked him if he could fix it and he said he would also repair my wide base with rhinoplasty; as well as my downward tip with an alar base resection. I'm still not sure how but the insurance has covered every one of my surgerys which I'm pretty thankful for. Anyways, my surgery was August 5th and I'm moving to California August 23rd for college so I'm hoping this recovery goes quickly so I'm ready for school in time!

I am plagued by the fat version of an Italian nose too. I hope tomorrow's cast off goes well and that you are happy with the results. Your healing seems to be going well.

Did you have splints inside your nose too? I'm wondering cause you said you could breathe a little.

I had splints in my nose when I had my septoplasty but not for this surgery. Just a few stitches

Thanks, that's what I thought. I'm having a septoplasty and a revision rhino. The thing I hated most (almost to a panic attack) was not being able to breathe through my nose. I don't look forward to going through that part of recovery again. BTW your nose looks great!
