Quick background: I'm 30 years old, female, in relatively good shape, but have always had a double chin. Even at 75 pounds in my youth. I'm not comfortable with surgery or injections so CoolSculpting was the best option for me.

It's only be a week and although I do not see any results yet, I am pleased to say I've had no pain or adverse side effects. During the procedure the first 5 minutes were slightly uncomfortable but the worst part was not knowing how much colder/uncomfortable it would get before going numb. Once I went numb and was no longer uncomfortable I realized that it really wasn't that bad in the first place. For me it was just the unknown that was scary. The 2 minute massage was painful. The warmth of the air and the technicians hands stung my cold skin and it felt like little needles. But it only lasts 2 minutes and I was never in so much pain that I couldn't speak to the tech while she massaged.

That night and the next day my chin just felt a little numb. One week later and the skin is very slightly tender but has never been painful. I also did not experience any bruising (which I was surprised about because I bruise very easily) and very little swelling.

I was told to expect to see initial results around the 3 week mark and the best results 10-12 weeks after the procedure. Once I have photos that show a change I will upload before and after photos.

I wrote this recap/review because I was VERY scared of pain during and after the procedure. I don't know why I did not experience pain but I'm very grateful that I did not and wanted to let others know that not everyone experiences it.

The technician (she may have been an RN, I was so nervous I forgot) had lovely bedside manner and explained everything thoroughly. She made me feel very comfortable even though I was very nervous. I have not received any follow up calls. I was told to expect one around 2 days after the procedure and another around 30 days after the procedure. I don't really mind as I don't have any follow up questions at this time. I'm giving 4 stars for Time Spent With Me, only because I thought maybe the technician would stop in the room once during the 45 minutes to check on me and see if I was okay. Perhaps they don't because some people nap during the procedure and they don't want to disrupt you. That being said my chair was equipped with a buzzer that I could press and the technician would come in immediately if I needed her. I did not need to use the buzzer. Overall it was a great experience and I'm very excited to see my results.
