WORTH IT$8,000
So, I am back on RealSelf to do some research on another procedure (eye-related) and thought I would give one more update on my progress. My arms are as beautiful as ever! My weight has gone up sometimes and down sometimes since my procedure, and while I did see weight gain somewhat in other areas, none of it has gone back to my arms. My knees are also no longer numb, although they do seem to be more receptive to the cold than other parts of my body now!
All in all, I would still recommend my procedure and my doctor - I looked beautiful for my wedding (which was what I really wanted!), and the results are still holding up!

Just One More Update
well ladies and gentlemen, today was my final post-op follow up and it went great! I can REALLY see a difference on my arms. I love them so much. They are much thinner, no sagging, and perfectly proportional. My thighs I can definitely see a difference, though not as much as the arms. Dr. B said everything looks like it healed up great. I still have numbness on the inside of my knees - seriously! It can take up to a year for that to fully subside, so I am not worried. It just feels weird :) I am completely satisfied with my results. If I had a little more money, I would go back and have him do my stomach as well ;) Overall, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Bottger. He was all around excellent to me and his office ladies are ANGELS!!!

Would you recommend doing your inner thighs and under arms at the same time? I'd like to do it too to save money and time but am wondering if it's damn near impossible to function with both sets of limbs hurting!

hi! I'm so sorry I missed this question - it was definitely tough to have done both at the same time, but I did manage because I had the help of my husband. If you don't have someone who can help you get dressed, get in and out of the shower (and up off the toilet!), I would recommend doing split procedures.

wow it's been a while!
haven't updated in a few weeks, mostly because everything is just progressing normally (yay!). I had my 3 week followup, which took about 30 seconds. Dr. B said he still thought I had some swelling, although I didn't really think so, but maybe he's right and I will get a little smaller ;) he also gave me the before pictures they took in his office (I get my afters done in february). god they are horrible!!! I think I look fat everywhere in them .. stomach, thighs, arms, ugh! and back then I even thought I looked OKAY ... so I am HOPING that the improvements I think I see in my body are reflected in my after photos!!!
as far as how I am feeling physically ... not too bad. I wish the healing process was a little faster ... I don't have excruciating pain or stiffness anymore, that ended around week 2, but I still don't have full mobility :( I can't sit cross legged or stretch my arms all the way out over my head. it feels like .... tightness/pulling I guess? so I guess there's still some healing going on under the skin. also, I still have localized areas of numbness and I do NOT like touching them!!!! it feels so weird to be feeling your own skin but not be able to feel yourself feeling it (if that makes sense)!!!! I lotion religiously, though, despite my discomfort lol.
scars are fading fairly well ... still noticeable but not dark/bright/raised/etc. just kinda pinkish.
I can definitely tell a diff. in my arms. I love them so much. They're not suuuuuuuper skinny (although I wouldn't have minded that lol). to be honest I think they look very natural and proportional to the rest of me now. I can see the difference every time I look in the mirror and I am so happy!!! I'm not self conscious anymore!!!! thighs, depends on my mood (lol). I can see a little difference, but to me it's not as significant as my arms. I want to see the before/after comparison because he probably took out more than I realize (when I asked him after surgery, he said 3 pounds total from thighs I think, but not sure if that includes all the fluid and stuff they shoot in there as well); and knees, I can also tell a difference. They're not as chunky/pudgy as they were, my legs have more of a smooth line from top of inner thigh down to ankle, and I don't feel self conscious in above-the-knee skirts (or boots that hit right at the knee, which would always accentuate my little inner-knee fat pouch).
all in all, I feel ready for the holidays and my upcoming engagement :) (my best friend told me my boyfriend bought a ring, but I don't know when it's coming ... aaah!)

Hi Chloe7252, I wanted to let you know that I have been following you from the beginning. I live in the Philadelphia area as well & like all the detail that you have given in your reviews. I too am looking to get my abs & arms reduced (I hate my arms as well). I wanted to know if you had to wear a compression garment on your arms? If so, where did you get it? I also wanted to get your opinion on being out of work. From your experience, do you think 7 days is enough time?
I have not started a blog myself yet because I'm still weighing my options. I will let you know. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks again for all of your reviews. They are great! Sincerely, Sibhuskies1

hi! I'm glad to hear you've gotten some use out of my experience (lol)! To answer your question, yes I did have to wear a compression garment. Mary Jo in Dr. Bottger's office gave me a brochure-type thing with a recommended brand called Marena, and I was really satisfied with it - beware, though, they are pricey! I think I spent $150 on mine.
As far as time off work, let's see ... I had my surgery on a Thursday and was back (barely) the following Tuesday . I wish I had taken one or two more days to get used to a regular routine again, because my first few days back at work were very tiring and uncomfortable. I would take a full week to be safe :)
