33 and Deciding - Philadelphia, PA

2nd Consultation

$7,500
Hello Ladies,
I went to see a surgeon that does both implants and fat transfers. He told me that I could do either procedure. He told me that he would have to pull fat from my stomach, flanks, and thighs, to get enough fat to transfer.
But when I went home and took a good look at my thighs I realized there wasn't much fat there. Which concerns me. When he examines me he just examined my upper body.
I didn't get a great feeling with him so I prob won't go to him for any surgery. My plans are to see a surgeon in ATL that does both fat transfer and implants. All this research has me wanting to just stick with what I got, but the. I see pick of my friends and I want bigger breast all over again.

Hi , it's been interesting following your journey ,
Same boat here , I'm debating between implants and fat transfer and haven't decided yet . Same problem with fat transfer as I'm not sure if I'll have enough fat to transfer ,and if I do I don't think I'll have any remainings for any to ups in the future to get noticeable improvement . To be honest ,I feel it's a complete gambling game as everything is possible but we couldn't know it until we try it . So good luck
Oh , btw I'm 5'3 and 116 Ilbs
Thanks. I'll keep updating. I plan on having another consult with a surgeon that does both in a few weeks. I want to hear what another surgeon will say
Have you seen Dr. Bucky?
No. His prices are pretty high
Good luck with your decision I am 2 days post op with transfer to breast and love how natural they look now it's just time to see how much fat takes
So like what I am going through. I have done fat transfer before and it didn't work well but I had Lyme at the time and am considering it again.
what doctor in philadelphia did you went too . I am in the area and looking into it .

Hello all, I'm trying to decide between fat...

Hello all,
I'm trying to decide between fat grafting a and silicone implants. I'm really having a internal battle with myself. I like the security in size that the implants will give me but I would love to be able to use my own fat and have natural feeling breast, w/o the concern of a rupture or having to replace implants sometime in the future.
My fear with fat grafting is that I'm not going to get the results that I want. And the cost is the same as getting implants.
I've gone for a consult for implants but I'm going to see another surgeon that does both implants and fat grafting. I'm hoping he can give me more Info on both surgeries and help me come to a decision.
Pics below are from my first consult for silicone implants. These are 3D image pics.

Hi there. I too am trying to decide if i want fat transfer or silicone implants. I want long lasting results with a natural look and feel. Your 3D pics look like what I would expect a breast aug w/fat transfer to look like, kind of small but full. I don't want huge but I def need a lift, after children I don't have that fullness on top and little on the bottom . I'm 5'7 140lbs. Athletic build although I barely work out. Not sure how much boobs I will have left and/or if I will have enough fat to make the difference that I will be satisfied with. Omg! Decisions..decisions. Another thing to think about is if you lose weight how will that effect your boobs with fat transfer. How long does fat transfer last? My weight can fluctuate +10 or -10. That's a big concern of mine. Implants need to be changed every 7-10 years. I'm searching for Doctors now for consultations. What did you think about your images? Big enough? They looked fine but I personally would want them a tad but bigger.
I would say go with what your guts says. Your six sense is there for a reason. I hope you get the results you want. Keep the realself team posted.
You dont need to change implants every 10 years.
Hi, the image is A 550 silicone implant. The number alone seems like a lot to me, but I am satisfied with the size in the image. I'm 5'6" and 150lbs. Also athletic build. From what I've researched the fat graft will give your breast volume but not shape. About 10-20% of the transferred fat will not survive. That percentage is an average. They do not guarantee what percentage will be permanent.
My guess is that because they will be natural breast that they could fluctuate with your weight but I don't believe that losing weight will by any means target the fat in your breast.
As far as implants. They don't have to be replaced every 7-10 years but they do require maintenance. They aren't permenant. With silicone you'll have to be screened for ruptures occasionally and eventually they will have to be replaced, but when they have to be replaced is different for each individual.
Keep me posted on your consult. I'll keep you posted on mine.
Thanks!
If you read the package insert that comes with all implants (and I urge you to do that before you get implants) the FDA clearly says implants should be exchanged near the ten year mark. Allergan and mentor also make this statement. The reason is the integrity of the shell starts to decline and the likelihood of spillage or silicone partials being released in your body becomes much higher. I had implants for 14 years and just took them out. I researched A LOT about the chemical make up of implants and what they can possibly do to your body after I removed mine. As pretty as they can be I am looking into fat transfer at this point. Read the book the naked truth by dr Susan Kolb if you want the down and dirty!
Thanks
Yes, I totally agree with you. I just watched an episode of the real housewives of Beverly Hills where a castmember had her implants removed after suffering from mysterious symptoms. She had her implants in for 10 years & once they were removed it was discovered that the implant had ruptured and leaked. She had free floating silicone in her body. I definitely agree with you on checking your implants every 10 years or whatever the manufacturer suggests. Thank you much for your response!
Yes you do. Just look up breast implant illness on Facebook
Since you are in the Phillly area, if you are able, I suggest getting a consult with Dr. Michael Stefan in Exton, PA. He is one of the few doctors in the area that does fat transfer. Implants were never an option for me as a health and exercise nut...I will not put something foreign in my body like that. So when I finally decided to take the plunge to do something about my exercise resistant areas, I figured why not have the fat transfer if I am going through the liposuction anyway. I went from barely a 32A to a full 32D. It was a pleasant surprise. I was told to expect 1, maybe 2 cup size increase. My surgery was a few months ago and my cup size was fairly consistent from 2 weeks post surgery on. My results are not typical, however I am in my 40s, exercise daily, drink tons of water, have great skin elasticity, and have had children and breast fed. I did not do any mechanical expansion (Brava) prior to the transfer, but I did get 'expanded' thanks to previous pregnancies which probably helped. Good luck with whatever you decide. I am very happy I did it. (I have not posted my results on here yet. I will once I am fully healed.)
I dream of having results like yours. Going to look up this surgeon. Thanks
Hello, what are your stats?height and weight? How much fat was harvested and how many cc were transferred to your breast?
I am 5'2", normally ~115 lbs and tone with muscle. I gained weight and was 124 lbs the day of surgery. It is not typical to gain weight prior to surgery, but I wanted my problems areas that were getting lipo'd to be exaggerated, which they were at that weight...and now they are gone. I had ~4.2L total harvested from my thighs which included tumescent fluid. ~400cc of purified fat was transferred to each breast. Essentially, my very stubborn saddle bags now live on my chest, where so far, they are being equally stubborn and have not reduced in size since about 2 weeks post.
I would speak to a surgeon who does both implants and fat transfer everyone is different as to what they want to achieve etc, after having kids most just want the fullness back which fat transfer is great for. 1-2 cup sizes is the max you will get with fat transfer and it also depends on what areas you have fat available to remove. I am scheduled for the 4th March for fat transfer from tummy and love handles to hips, I see it as a 2 for 1 deal haha get rid of stubborn areas that won't budge no matter what I do and a bigger bust
I was implying that some ppl have them longer than 7-10 years.
I never said that they didn't need to be replaced or monitored. I believe that they do need replacement and that they are not a permanent solution.
The manufactures recommendations should be followed.
In my opinion and experience...I wouldn't do either..you look Great the way you are. Implants have so many chemicals in them and it's not a matter of when your going to become ill, it's When your going to be sick. If any I would do fat transfer, it's your own natural fat. Just make sure your surgeon has experience
