After several years of having a saggy stomach, I decided to have a tummy tuck. Have 2kids, a girl and a boy through 2 c- sections. I tried going to the gym and workng out 5 days a week but I would loose weight and tone everything. However, stomach never toned up, it was always saggy. Especially without cloths, with cloths, I think the cloths tucked me in. When I found out I had a hernia, I decided to get a tummy tuck with the hernia repair. Needed to feel better about my stomach. I think I deserve it after 2 c-sections. You only live once and I wanted to enjoy it as much as possible.

Hernia repair should be done in the same time with abdominoplasty. Be sure to address this issue with your plastic surgeon: what type of hernia repair you need and who is going to do it, plastic surgeon or general surgeon.

tummy tuck surgery

I am not sure if I made the right decision of having the surgery. I think its mostly in the afternoon when I swell up. I get a really big bulge on my upper abdomen above belly button and bellow ribcage. However, when I look at my before pictures of my stomach I am glad I had the tummy tuck. My cloths look good because I don't have the love handles sticking out. I especially like how the dresses look on me. I also can wear cute panties and they look so nice with my stomach. Nice and sexy. I started working out 2 weeks ago. I swelled up alot. At 3months my doctor said it was ok to workout. I hit the gym and took some tone classes. I did everything in the classes but could not get up from the floor to do situps or just to sit up from the floor. I had to roll over on my side and push my self up with my arms. I was upset that I couldn't work on my abs. Someone told me to wait until I my body lets me know when it feels good to do the situps or any ab exercise. I decided to wait because I do not want to damage my surgery.

You look great, and it'll get better from here!

You look wonderful...... I had my sx 6 months ago and I still listen to my body when it comes to exercising, especially when it comes to abs. The swelling is normal, it happens to me still. If I over do it throughout the day or the gym, I swell up. It takes time, don't pay much attention to it. My Dr. said it can be as long as a year for swelling to be there. But it's a great feeling to wear fitted clothes. ;)

You look great. Swelling will subside eventually. My PS said not to do sit ups after a TT anyway. Planks and core work are ok though. We all have ups and downs but just know you look great!

swelling

I do not like it when I swell and that a i am so numb. I also have one side curvier than the other side. I think I need more lipo under my bra line. My doctor did some lipo with tummy tuck. I also think i have the dog ears on my sides. Don't think i want to go thru this again, so i don't know if i should get more lipo and get the dog ears fixed, But I did spend alot of money on surgery. But i will wait and give it some more time to fix its self. I wish doctor would of wrote done things I would experience with the tummy tuck. That way things are expected and they don't come as a surprise. Also i wouldn't have felt like i was dieing during my first 3months. Thankgoodness for Realself and its members. Thank you. I would cry and regreted having had the tummy tuck. But Realself helped me thru this nightmare. I weighed 130 before tummy tuck after I weighed 125. So 5lb were removed from me. I started going to the gym and weighed 122, but then the holidays came and i am back to 125. I need to get to 119 lb that is my goal. I am short so I need to loose weight. Hopefull my body will heal better and faster my scar is looking real good. Love that my docter made my scar low and thin. I have been putting the Mederma scar treatment. So I am hopeing that by the summer scar will be lighter.

Hey girl! Soooooooo I think you look fantastic! I think you should continue going to the gym and working out! Your body will start to look way different if you continue too. I think you're right on waiting for anymore surgrey just in case the working out will do the job! And after some more time you're still not crazy about your results then talk to your ps.! Get those dog ears taken care of because that's an easy fix!! I like your belly button! Also consider buying a waist trainer! I'm looking into it as well and think it will help with your waist and curves! I really think you have a great shape! Oh also I swell above belly button too and still numb. I'm used to it now though. Continue with the great work!! You look fabulous!!

You look great! The dog ears can be fixed. From everything I've read, swelling just takes time. Thanks for taking the time to update with details and pictures. My TT is scheduled for January 12th. And I'm glad to know what to expect. good days & bad days.

Thank you. Good luck. And take some pictures now before surgery. So that way you can look at them after surgery when you are feeling really bad. They will make you feel better. You can compare the before and after pictures.

You look very nice and curvy...very feminine....was just curious ....how tall are you?...you look a lot like me and I am 5'3" tall and 130 lbs....

I never really knew I was curvy until everyone on here complimented me on them. This is a very ego booster for me. Thank you Real self community!
You are looking fantastic. The swelling will take a while to subside, but it will come to an end. Mine took about 7 months to finally quit haunting me. I also have some stretch marks left after surgery but they don't bother me at all.
The stretch marks are our badges of war:)
