I had buttock implants, liposuction to flanks,...

WORTH IT$12,500
I had buttock implants, liposuction to flanks, abdomen and inner thighs. The fat was transferred to around the butt implants so they'd look more natural and fill out my hip area, as I have no hips.
I am very happy with the liposuction, however the transferred fat was gone before 3 months post op. My implants still look OK ( 290, round, in the muscle) however, there's not that nice full look anymore.
I am also extremely upset that I STILL have bruises below each butt cheek as well as a long, thin bruise like mark on my left side, below my waist. The bruises have been there since I first had my surgery but each time I mentioned them to Dr Henry, she acted confused, like it was the first time I was ever mentioned this to her.
Dr Henry also asked me if I had been hit or what somebody had done to me. When I responded that I was concerned because she had done this to me and they have been there since my surgery. She then brought up my postop pictures and told me she didn't see them. I had to point out the bruises to her on the pictures and tell her they have been there the whole time, they are still there and that she did it to me. She just said to use scar medicine. I have been using Arnica and Maderma scar medicine on my implants scar as well as the bruises for months now and they are still there. I had also mentioned the bruises in an email to Kristine, who works in her office and gave me all the information on my surgery as well as my financial information.
The other thing that bothered me was that when Dr. Henry saw that the fat that was transferred to my butt area did not survive, she made a comment about doing it again. It just kind of slipped quickly into the conversation then she moved on to something else, so I didn't get a chance to say anything. The following visit she mentioned putting more fat around the implants again but I told her I couldn't afford that. She said I would just have to pay for the facility and the anesthesiologist. I told her I still couldn't afford that.
So I guess that's it, these are my results. Permanent bruises below each butt cheek and on my left side, as well as zero fat around the implant and hip areas. The bruises show when I wear a swimsuit, not cute.
Dr Henry also questioned whether or not I had followed her postop instructions. I got so upset because I followed her instructions to a T. I laid on my stomach for six VERY LONG weeks. I never sat down until after six weeks and then I used a Brazilian butt lift pillow that cost me $125 online. When I told her this, she said I wasn't supposed to sit for 6 months!! Well why wasn't I told this to begin with? I looked in every single piece of information I was given from that office and not one thing said not to sit down for six months, including emails between the office staff and myself.
I always felt there were a lot of inconsistencies with Dr Henry. She made me feel like she hadn't read my chart, couldn't remember who I was, or blamed me for my results.
I am 53 years old, 4'10" tall and weigh 102 pounds. I am very responsible and obviously since I waited until the age to have my surgery, I want to have the best results. I followed those postop instructions and did exactly what I was supposed to do. I did not appreciate Dr Henry making me feel like it was something that I have done or questioning who bruised me when it was there from the day I had my surgery done.
Like I said, I waited six months to post this review so as to be fair to everybody concerned.

Have you had any other surgeries? How did it compare?

I did have Rhinoplasty in about 1993. That was a piece of cake and I'm very happy with the results.

Thanks for asking.

Try a couple of IPL treatments to your bruises and I bet they go away. I had residual bruising for TWO YEARS post Cellulaze. One IPL treatment later, all gone!

Oh wow, 2 years? I thought nearly 7 months was bad. I'm just not able to afford something like IPL treatments. I will look into it though. Thanks so much.

Even one treatment might do the trick. If the surgeon who did your surgery (Dr. Henry) offers IPL treatments in her practice, I think it's a reasonable request to ask her to try it on your bruising at no charge.

True RebirthifVenus but.... I'm not sure I want Dr. Henry doing anything else for or to me. Do you have before and after pics of your bruises? Thanks again girly.

I already told you I was unhappy Dr. Henry. You asked, “Who did that to you?” Referring to the bruises that were and are now, still there. I also told you that all of the fat transplanted to my buttocks and hips was gone. You told me I’d have to pay more money to have it fixed. Now what? With all due respect, I’m at a loss.

I’ve never heard not to sit for 6 months. Lol. That’s insane. All well respected surgeons who specialize in this say 2-4 weeks. Maybe 6.

Ya, the thing is, it isn’t in ANY of the information I was given. It was a huge packet too. I wasn’t told that until I went in for my 12 week follow up. I just felt so confused

I added my review almost 4 months ago and the bruises are still there. I’m still using Mederma religiously. I just don’t know.

Hi there, I had bruising like yours on my butt cheeks that lasted three years, after I had Cellulaze. I thought it would be there forever.and I posed the question of what could be done to fix it, to doctors here on RealSelf. The advice I got was to have IPL done to my butt cheeks, just in the areas where the bruising persisted. So I did and the bruising vanished! It was explained to me that it's blood trapped or something to that effect? Anyway, it worked! Give it a try!

Wow! So there is some hope then. Could you please tell me about how much your IPL treatments were? Did you have to have multiple treatments? As you can see, my bruises are small but they will show in the swimsuit. Thank you so much for responding to my post. I really do appreciate it. P.S. Do you think an IPL treatment would also help my scar? Since I am olive complected, I scar dark.
