Never ending seroma

I haven't updated in awhile. Since my surgery on 7/29/14 I have developed a persistent seroma. It's seems like every two weeks I'm having to go in and get drained. These nuisances are painful and inconvenient. I had to leave work today and travel to my PS to get drained. Luckily one of my patients canceled otherwise I would've had to of waited until tomorrow:( My PS said that if this doesn't resolve soon he will have to insert a drain. If the drain fails to resolve the seroma then he will have to open me up to excise the seroma scar tissue. I'm so stressed out. The thought of having my abdomen opened is so disheartening. He wants me to lay horizontal as much as possible and limit my activity. The problem is I'm a PHYSICAL therapist with a full patient load and my job is very PHYSICAL lol. I still don't regret my choice, BUT that may change if I have to have surgery. Whoosh me luck. BTW my breast feel and look amazing so that's a plus.

Progressing well

It has been 7 weeks now and I'm feeling about 90% of what my energy level was. I no longer feel tired during work and have started yoga. I did Bikram yoga yesterday and it was amazing. My ab tightness limited some of the back extensions, but I modified. My abs still get tight if I stay flexed too long, but standing and striving alleviates that. The swelling after work is minimal and I started wearing compression socks which greatly minimized the leg swelling. I haven't started weight training however yoga uses body weight so I've been sore all over. I'm still wearing my compression garment because of the severity of my last seroma as a preventative measure. I'm scheduled for my 8 week follow-up next week. My breast also feel great, no tightness, and they are dropping nicely.

Seroma Drained!

I contacted Dr. Buckspan this evening (Saturday) & told him I had significant swelling that was causing pain. I looked 3 months pregnant, I had burning pain in my hip areas, and was just miserable. He immediately told me to meet him at his office. Once there he removed about 6 oz of fluid. Talk about immediate relief! I'm still sore from the swelling and he prescribed antibiotics because it looks like I may be getting an infection. I'll be happy when I'm completely healed. Still worth it, but I never imagined I'd still be in such discomfort almost 6 weeks out :(

Wonderful and excellent patient care by the entire staff. Dr. Buckspan answered all the questions my husband and I had. Extremely attentive from the moment you enter the door. I plan on using him for all my cosmetic surgery needs. I highly recommend him. I was referred by a friend who was also referred by a friend. His great reputation precedes him.
