Here is the progression as my lips start to heal. I will need to go back in for a touch up of course. Still not thrilled with the top lip, but it is still early - so the jury is still out on this one.

Wow, today most of my lip has peeled away. Just have the lipliner left to go. They are still a bit swollen and tender, but getting back to normal much faster than I thought they would. I kind of look like I have a kool-aid mustache.

It will fade! The lips retain the least color.. it’s going to look beautiful once it heals

Not when overlined.

The lip skin is very different from the skin above the lip. Unfortunately most technicians are poorly trained in a 2 to 3 day class without understanding the anatomy of the lips and skin. A technician should NEVER over line the lips. This is because lip skin is a membrane type tissue with fewer layers. The lip skin fades significantly. However the skin above the lip usually will not. A touch up will not fix this. It looks good at first because of the swelling all over, but will always revert back to the kool aid look when the swelling fades. If you are unhappy with the look, you can get pigment removal on the skin above the lip and keep the lower lip skin color. I'm a tech, nurse and educator of PMU. Ok, it has been 48 hours and the swelling has gone down considerably. Lips are starting to peel and it is taking all my willpower not to rip the dead skin off! I look like I have really red lipstick on, but I can go out in public without feeling too self conscious
