I have been suffering for over a year with a facial rash, fatigue, hair loss, tingling and numbness in fingertips. I've been to 7 doctors to get a diagnosis. Allergists, Rheumatologists, Hematologists, you name it! I started to do some research online. I typed in my symptoms and this website came up. After reading about the toxic symptoms of silicone implants, I knew this is what I have. Researching further, I bought the book by Dr. Kolb, " The Naked Truth About Breast Implants, From Harm to Healing. I had saline implants put in back in 2000. Five years later, the right developed a capsular contraction so I replaced them with Silicone. Shortly after, the right side developed another capsular contraction so I decided to have them replaced again! Never even thinking that the symptoms I was experiencing were related to these implants.
On April the 8th, I decided to exchange the 10 year old implants for the new "gummy bear" implants. What a disaster! After I awoke from anesthesia, I was told old right silicone implant was ruptured and the silicone was spread out like glue in the pocket. I never would have put new implants in under those conditions, but the doctor put the in... A couple days later, the right side was getting more bruised and the implant started rising. I had a slow bleed and was developing a hematoma. I went back to the doctor and he denied that anything was wrong. He said the body will absorb the blood and to come back in two weeks! Being a registered nurse, this was unacceptable to me so I went to another plastic surgeon in Miami for a second opinion. I had to have emergency surgery to take this implant out, cauterize the bleed and suction the old blood out. My skin would have become necrotic if I would have listened to the original Boca Raton doctor.
Now, I have one boob in and one boob out and scar tissue laced with silicone! My body has been reacting to these implants all along so that's when I decided to find a doctor that is experienced with silicone toxicity. I"m so fortunate I found Dr. Lu-Jean Feng in Ohio. She is internationally renowned for explant enbloc procedure. Which means that she takes out all the silicone infested scar tissue and the capsule and implant all at one time. It's funny how plastic surgeons don't think that silicone can cause any harm!
Immediatly after surgery, my facial rash is gone and day by day I feel so much better! Dr. Lu-Jean Feng is a class act. She spent 3 hours going over my history and she explained every detail of the procedure and what to expect. I will post pictures as soon as I upload them.

I am so glad you resolved your problems. I wish PSs would tell you that once you encapsulate, you will always encapsulate. I am living proof-I had nine procedures and each time they encapsulated even with alloderm..Dr. Feng's reputation is well known to Real Self's site and I am so glad you had so much success. Thanks for sharing and God Bless.

Thank you for sharing your story. I have silicone implants and a few months ago developed a rash on my face and now have headaches, painful lymph nodes and joint and chest pain. It's great to hear from women who are feeling better [RS bleep]

I wish you all the best of luck! Have you thought about explanting? You can always get fat grafting afterwards....

Thank you. I am trying to find a surgeon but I am UK based so there aren't as many posts or recommendations on here. Also, I don't think they do fat grafting over here yet. So glad you are feeling better. [RS bleep]
