At 31 years old I was as fit as I had every been and felt great about the way I looked. Even my very small breasts were cute for the first time in my life. But... I just happened to have some extra cash and thought it would be great to have my padding on the inside instead of in my bra. With no significant other in my life at the time there was no one to tell me it wasn't worth it. After some research I made my decision and thought If I didn't like the implants I'd have them removed and everything would go back to the way it was... ha! I met with several doctors and found the one for me . We discussed my desire to keep a very natural look... I just really just wanted to feel something move when I moved. I thought a little bounce would add to my femininity! ha! In the end I had 225cc mentor silicon under the muscle and went from a 32A to a 32 very full C/D. (bigger than I had thought but still pretty.) I loved them at first but as soon as it was time to start working out again the problems started. These things were a menace. Not only did they distort and look awful when I moved my upper body in any way ..they felt awful! I felt completely disconnected from my breasts and nipples. I lost nipple sensation and was very sad about that! so after 2 months I knew I wanted them out. I had lost nipple sensation but was hoping that after only a short time with implants i would quickly achieve my original shape post explantation. 4 months post surgery I scheduled an appointment with my doctor to discuss my concerns. Since I knew I was going to try and get pregnant soon (yes in 5 months I met my husband and got married!) she strongly encouraged me to wait and see what I thought after I had a baby. I reluctantly agreed. I got pregnant and thankfully breastfed with no problems. Those silicon bags in my breasts were still a problem. so I went to my doctor again. this time she suggested I might be depressed with my old boobs and that they would be quite flat after having a baby and that I would be happier if I just went smaller. She also suggested that going smaller first is easier surgically than taking out the implants and later trying to put them in again. So.... against my better judgement I agreed. She exchanged my 225cc for 150cc under a local anesthetic right in her office. Here is the kicker. She sutured them up so high using my old capsule tissue that I had cleavage starting at my clavicle!!!!! they were AWFUL to say the least!!!!! absolutely AWFUL!!!!!!! They were a problem from the moment I got off the table. my doctor suggested they would drop... especially with a second pregnancy. Well they didn't!!!!
And if I thought my first implants distorted with movement.... that was nothing! these new ones were horrible they were practically in my armpit and one actually really hurt because it would move up and hit my clavicle bone.
After almost 7 YEARS with unwanted implants and 2 pregnancies I found my freedom. lots of research and huge thanks to realself.com i found the courage to finally get rid of these bags.
You all led my to Dr. Feng at Feng Clinic. What an amazingly talented woman and surgeon. She is fierce with an “in the moment” peace! Her staff awesome. The nurses Karla, Amy, Lindsay are so kind and caring. And the clinic just great!

I had my surgery on January 8th, 2016. I’m waiting to get my drains out tomorrow and head home. I have pretty much no pain. I have taking only to anti-inflammatory pills and one Tylenol. The drains are a bit uncomfortable but that’s nothing. I truly can not believe how little pain I have after this surgery. I have more pain in my back from taking it easy in the hotel room… ha! I can’t wait to keep you all updated as I see and feel my results after the drains are removed tomorrow. I’m so bound up with ace bandage and compression bra that I haven’t seen them yet. Dr. Feng showed me a photo that was taken before the bandages were put on but I can’t really remember what it looked like.

Thanks for sharing this. I had BA a month ago for much of the same reasons you did (no SO, extra cash) and regretted it almost immediately afterward. I was also a 32B before the surgery and workout a lot. I put in 375cc. I just spoke to the nurse at my PS office and she says they want patients to wait 3 months before removal and then 3-6 months after removal to decide if to do a lift. I know I'll need a lift as I had extra skin due to pregnancy. I feel really stupid for doing this to myself and I really really really miss the gym. I stopped working out 2 weeks before surgery, so it's been nearly 2 months no gym. Ugh!

Did you or are you planning on getting a lift?

Hi! Just came across this... honestly, I would call feng. Don't bother with regular boob docs... they will all tell you to keep them in. I regretted it immediately after as well... not only did I get talked into leaving them in, but I also got talked into an implant exchange rather than an explant 14 years later. I am finally taking them out this march 9th. When you wake up from surgery and realize you made a mistake... that feeling will never go away. Take them out before they do more damage to your body :) everything will be OK!

I am so sorry you are in this place. I know how you feel... its not nice. If I could offer any advice it would be not to let anyone talk you into keeping the implants. Use your instincts! make a plan with your doctor to get them out as soon as you can. 7 years was way too long of a wait. I fee so great already and I am only 8 days post op. Tomorrow i get to take off the bandages. still have another week of where the compression bra.
I did not have a lift and don't plan on getting a lift. my boobs are so small that there is really no need. also I don't want to mess with the possibility of losing any more nipple sensation. Good luck and remember to go with your instincts! my biggest mistake in this whole journey was not listening to mine! I'm glad I finally did!!!!

im so excited for you!
you won't believe how good you are going to feel. best wishes for a fast and easy recovery.
only 9 days post op I'm still all bound up, can't lift more than five pounds, can't lift my kids, and can't exercise but i still feel better!!!! i'm better because those horrible implants are gone! and i know that this recovery is going to lead to better health!!!

Hi! I am wondering if you have got the sensation back in your nipples? I have the same problem and is taking my implants out this week after 7 years with problems . Sorry for my bad English.
Wish you all the best!! :) [RS bleep] from Norway
January 25, 2016
Well. It's hard to tell for certain because I'm only 17 days post surgery from original surgery and 7 days out from emergency surgery. I felt like they were more sensitive at 9 days post op when I took my ace wrap off but I'm still all wrapped because of my second surgery. My left nipple actually has lost more sensation now but I think that's from the emergency trauma. I also have breast fed twice and that may have changed the sensation too. I hoping for more sensation to return. And that its just too early to know yet in my healing process. All the best to you.
January 25, 2016
Thank you for your answer! I hope your sensation will return and your healing prosses goes well.

Dr. Feng is really just that amazing! I still have pretty much no pain.
so from the day of my surgery up until now 9 days post op I have taken 2 anti-inflamatory pills and 2 extra strength tylenol... and those were the first 2 days post op... that is it!!!! no narcotics at all!
Dr. Fengs post op care is just fantastic!
I am taking homepathic arnica to prevent bruising. I am limited to moving my arms like a t-Rex dinosaur for 7 more days. no lifting over 5 pounds. eat healthy foods. I am doing all these things which are are contributing to this great and painless recovery. waiting on some photos to post from Dr. Fengs office.

Listen to Yiur Doctor and nurses... I ruptured an artery moving to much!

Lucky78
So everything was going unbelievably well! Very little pain. 10 days post op it was time to remove the water prof bandages and take a real shower! I asked my husband to help get my daughter out of her crib and change her diaper before he left for work. He got her out of the crib but left me to change her diaper. Big mistake!! Changing her in the floor (I couldn't lift her to the changing table) I really extended my left arm and lifted her legs. Heavy little almost 2 year old legs. I felt the pop and my left breast immediately swelled! My perfect little old boob recreation and 10 days of healing was out the door. I had surgery by a local and not friendly plastic surgeon to repair the artery and remove the hematoma blood! He went in through the same inframammary incision that Doctor Feng used 10 days earlier. I will have the drain in for 8 days. And start recovery all over again. It want worth it! Obviously! Get the help you need! Restrict Your movement! Rest! Heal!

Emotionally I was flying high yesterday counting my blessings and thanking God for leading me to Dr Feng. Today I'm in the dumps and feeling horrible for the mistake I made! Your posts and encouragement help! Thank you!
January 25, 2016
So sorry about your injury! Thank you so much for the warning! I am 4 days postop and have been feeling so good today I was ready to do some light housework. Now I think I will just relax and watch TV (again). I hope your recovery gets back on track quickly!
January 25, 2016
yes! stay put! I hope my posts help others. I am 6 days post second op and 16 days post original op. my right side feels like ready to fly. my left is very tender and sore and I can already tell that the scarring is going to need to be released by Dr. Feng. which will mean one more surgery now to release the scar. or... maybe i will be able to do some massage to help it once the incision is healed. sending peace and healing your way. and strength to keep taking it easy.
January 20, 2016
I'm so sorry hear about your setback...I wish you speedy recovery from this! I just got mine out today and I will heed your advice and be extra cautious with my movements.
January 24, 2016
Wondering how your recovery is goin? Sending healing wishes and prayers.
January 20, 2016
Oh nooooo! So sorry you had such s big set back! It will all be ok... At least you are on the right path to being yourself again and truly healing (because healing with implants in is not really healing, is it?! Ugh. I can't wait to have mine out... I have to wait until March. I will heed your warning. Thanks for posting.
January 26, 2016
Very scary! I am having surgery with Dr. Feng in March and will be taking care of my 2 year old daughter as well. Thank you for the warning! I hope you are recovering well!
January 26, 2016
Thank you! I'm just paranoid because my left breast doesn't look or feel anything like it did after Dr. Feng fixed me up. I'm afraid I'm going to have to have her repair his repair. Argh! All the best to you! Enjoy Dr. Feng and what she will do for you. She is amazing! All the best!
