I definitely see improvement in my scars! I'd say between month 3 and 6 were the most exciting! If I had the time and money, I'd probably get one more laser treatment. I am, however, getting fillers tomorrow. I am staying local due to time and budget, so it will not be the same office. I will be doing ,a separate review on the fillers, so check my profile in a few weeks. I'm uploading pics that show the difference between before I had Infini RF or co2 laser and my progress up to tonight. My scar journey started 12/9/16 and officially ends tomorrow, at least for a long while! I'm not only financially drained, but also emotionally exhausted! I feel for anyone who decides to embark on scar revision! Just don't give up, but love yourself every step of the way!!! xoxo

I had a few issues with the fillers I received before, mainly was from inexperience of the provider. I have now gone back to Dr.Miller or Sin Solutions and she gave me temp fillers yesterday. I will eventually start replacimg with permenant fillers. I plan to post updated pics by next weekend (11/10/18). Thank you all for your questions and comments.

3 Months Post Laser

It's been a little over 3 months since my laser. I do see improvement in my scars and I have 3 more months of possible improvement to wait for. In the direct sunlight and when my face is at certain angles from the light I can tell a difference and it's exciting, but I feel like it doesn't look like I've spent the last year and over $5,000.00 on my face! Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I see Improvement and that I can actually afford to get something done; I just feel like that after reading all the hype and seeing before and after pics from the doctors on these procedures, I should have a little bit more noticable results!! I guess that's why they say "results vary". I'm going to keep pushing on and hoping for the best! Next will be aggressive session of fillers! I've attached updated pics. Left is before any treatments, 12-8-16, and right is 12-3-17. (I had 3 Infini RF treatments before Co2).

My skin is still red and blotchy. The ointment and possibly even the procedure itself has caused some breakouts. My jawline and parts of my cheeks are still minorly sensitive to the touch and the places that are still red itch off and on all day and sometimes during sleep. I'm not sure if I'm still swollen or if this is results from the partial ablation of my skin, but my scars are very shallow. As of today, I am impressed! I'm not sure how long this redness will last and the blotchy look, but with a bit of liquid foundation, it is tolerable. I switched back to my Aquation moisturizer, as it is hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic and fragrance free! My skin is still pretty dry! I've attached a pic collage. The left pics are two days before my laser and the right pics are today. No makeup, same lighting, same camera. Trying not to get my hopes up, but looks pretty good so far! I'll be getting temp fillers soon - then will be taking a break from all of this during the 6 month wait for collagen remodeling.

Hello.
How are you feeling?
I see improvement

Thank you! I feel pretty good. I still have pink blotches on my skin from the laser, but I'm very fair skinned. My scars are reappearing as the swelling subsides, but are still not as deep. I'd say I'm at about 20% improvement from the fractionated resurfacing. When the sunlight hits my face, you can still see them, but not as bad. Now I'll just have to wait it out. Being anxious for a more drastic improvement, I have a consult coming up next week for HA fillers for temporary assistance while I wait. Did you feel your subscisions were worth the time and money? I'm hoping to get some visible results with my fillers! I'll post pics soon!

This is fractional CO2 correct? I'd like to have a fully ablative CO2 treatment. I'm the same way. i'm ready for drastic improvement. When i had the subcision, the first few weeks were hopeful as i had swelling but didn't know it was swelling at the time. I would say i've definitely seen improvement in my skin. I think that subcision is probably a necessary thing. I've had chemical peels as well as microneedling and they didn't improve my scars very much. Although i still have severe scars i'd say its improved. Definitely look into fillers. Can't hurt. I mean i think i'd rather have fillers than subcision but then again i've never had fillers. Fillers seem to have those visible results you mentioned. Please do. thank you for posting

This looks to be improvement from the before pictures. I realize that that there is still swelling and redness. Please hang in there. All the treatments you had, do build up upon each other.

what is collagen remodelling? xo
User Avatar
October 7, 2017
I used as general term! After your scars are treated with any device like laser or micro needles, then your body sends a signal to repair the area. The collagen starts to remodel or repair the tissue to make the scar less noticeable. It just takes time!! :)

Had mine done 8/14/17....my redness is gone....love it! I tell people it feels like a tattoo...hurys, but worth it!

I have a tattoo! Maybe your settings were different! This was much more painful than a tattoo! He said he went extra aggressive, though. My face needed aggressive! :)

Great! So happy for your improvement! Thanks for checking back in. It's so helpful to hear updates over time.

I see that you also had Infini RF. Which do you think helped the most?
User Avatar

That's very difficult to answer. All scar revision treatments use the same basic principles for injury and repair and each one causes improvement over time, so they overlap each other. I don't want to be vague, because I know how important a treatment decision is. At 3 months post CO2 my scars are so much more shallow than they were at 3 months post 3 Infini treatments. I could have tried 3 more Infini treatments and ended up at the same place, but I'll never know. Healing time was shorter after Infini, but one laser treatment was cheaper than 3 more Infini treatments. My epidermis seemed to glow after Infini and was questionable for a long time after co2. It's back to "normal" but I lost that glow, but my scars are more shallow. As of today there is not as much tightening as I expected and was promised by the CO2, but I can't judge that until February! I could go back and forth all day. I'm glad I had both procedures done so far, because I really needed to do something!! I'm sorry that I can't say specifically one or the other!
December 2, 2017
Thanks! This is helpful. I'm planning to have my second CO2 Fractional Laser next week. I've recently been reading about Infini RF and wondered if I should be going that route instead. I'm wanting to address scaring so your comment that your "scars are more shallow" is so encouraging. I'm really glad you've gotten good results. Thank you for sharing your experience and answering questions. It helps so much!
