I am a single Mom whom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer end of 2011. My battle and recovery was something I will never forget. I am very grateful to be cancer free now for over 6 years. Although I have moved on with my life, there has always been one constant reminder everyday of the nightmare I went through. That being the deformity to my left breast as a result of the breast cancer treatments I had. I had a lumpectomy that left scarring and a huge pit in my breast. Not only was it disturbing to look at, it was also very painful at times. The radiation had shrunk my breast significantly. Although this was something I have learned to accept over the years knowing it's a small price to pay to survive, it did make me very self-conscious.
Then I met Dr Wages and his staff at NSPS. They were all so professional and caring and made me feel very welcomed as soon as I walked in the door. Dr Wages told me about a surgery covered by my insurance that would fill my breast in with fat from my armpit. I never heard of this procedure but he had my full attention. He explained everything in detail and answered all my questions. Not once did I ever feel like he was rushing me out of the room to see his next patient. I felt very comfortable with him and booked my appointment.
I had my surgery at Union Hosp in September 2017. It went well but I was very bruised and the recovery was painful for a few weeks. Since then, I had several follow ups with Dr Wages to monitor my progress. Its been 4 months since the surgery and it looks fantastic. Even better, the pain I was experiencing prior to my surgery is gone completely. I couldn't be happier about the results. I don't feel self-conscious anymore and I don't have any pain/discomfort for the first time in years.
The office seems more like a spa. Very inviting and comforting. The admin and nursing staff are so nice and responsive to your needs. They smile and truly love their jobs. I highly recommend this office!!
