I've been cut 7 times with this surgery, on my stomach, and it was ugly. I'm getting older and I just wanted to do something just for myself. I originally went to the ps to get a tt but he refused saying that he would do a panniculectomy. My ps sent me to a gs because he felt I had a hernia. The gs agreed and now here we are 1 week and 1 day post op! My hernia was 6 inches!!! My Back hurt me terribly before surgery but no back pain since. I really had no core at all so I'm looking for great results as the healing continues.

I have had two hernia surgeries and I read on another post where you stated they couldn't save your belly button. Did they just completely remove it or did they recreate one? I was told by one ps I would lose mines. I hate the way he said it like it's no big deal. He claims he can recreate one like 6 months later. I left a question on real self and several ps says it should be recreated during the TT. Now I'm confused and going to see another ps for a 2nd opinion this week. Do you have any pics?

This is a short video of my healing wounds just 10 days post op. Remember i had 2 surgeries in 1. A huge 6 inch umbilical hernia repair that was fixed with abdominalplasty and a panniculectomy. It took about 5 hours to complete my operation and I came out of the OR with 4 drains and a pain pump. Thankfully I've had few complications. Other than being allergic to the meds, adhesives and tubing I've done pretty well. I hope this video helps someone and answers any questions. Happy healing!
Wow that was a large hernia! You are going to feel so much better once you are totally healed. Make sure to post some of the after pictures. How has the recovery been so far?
You are doing fantastic, I am so happy for you.
