Almost 6 monts after surgery
$6,245
It's been almost 6 months, life is going on as normal. Full physical activity in the gym. Healing is going great. The incision scar looks amazing, totally flat and lightening up, will need to post good photos of that soon. I still feel like there is some minor scar tissue and loss of sensation under my belly button, but patiently waiting as full recovery can take up to one year.
Very happy with the result and very glad I did the surgery, has taking great stress off my mind!

started using scar tape 8 weeks post-op
At the 8 week mark, was cleared to discontinue the use of compression garments altogether. I'm also cleared for all exercises and have started working out again. The incision is healing well and I started using Mepitac silicone scar tape ($15 on amazon) it has worked wonders to flatten and lighten the scar. Plan is to use it for several months. I wear it 23 hours a day except showering. It is reusable and comfortable, also acts as a little line of defense from my pant waist band rubbing uncomfortably against the incision.
I generally have no pain or discomfort from the surgery, however there is still swelling which could last up to 6 months or more. Still VERY pleased with the results, looks great already, will be excited to see the final outcome. Attached is a photo of the incision before the scar tape and 4 weeks after using it. While it doesn't look a ton lighter in color (it is, poor photography) you can see it's much flatter and starting to disperse in color while it heals. Real miracle product in my experience, and inexpensive!

5.5 weeks post-surgery incision healing
Almost to my six week post-op visit with Dr. Azad. At the 4 week mark I resumed my exercise program, without clearance yet from my surgeon. However I feel good, and have significantly lowered the weights I'm lifting, as well as avoiding specific core exercised (sit ups, planks, leg lifts, etc).
I am including a photo of the incision at 5.5 weeks post-op. Looks great. More swelling has been reduced, it appears all the sutures have dissolved and never had any issues whatsoever with infection, necrosis, seromas, or abscesses.
Still wearing the compression garments 24/7 but optimistic I can cease use of them at the 6 week mark, or use "as needed/desired" instead of required.
