After losing weight by diet and exercise I decided on looking into having a tummy tuck and possibly a breast lift. My GP recommended Dr Jake Lim and gave me a referral to him to have a cyst removed and a quote for what I wanted. I was very impressed with Dr Lim from the first appointment I had. Dr Lim was very encouraging and explained the procedures he believed would work for me. I still wanted to lose another 10kg so he suggested coming back when I had achieved my ideal weight. I then spoke to his wonderful nurse Catherine who gave me a quote and made me an appointment to have my cyst removed. I was very impressed by Dr Lim's surgery on my cyst removal and his bedside manner was very calming and made me feel at ease straight away.
So 9 months later and my extra 10kgs gone,,, I made another appointment with Dr Lim and he explained again what was involved in having a tummy tuck and a breast lift. He also suggested Muscle repair and lipo. He assured me that I would get great results with my procedures! I felt very comfortable with Dr Lim and his staff and found him easy to talk to and he actually shows enthusiasm in his work. To be honest I didn't even see any other surgeons for quotes as I felt very confident that Dr Lim was the right one for me. He happily answers any questions you have and explains things very well. His staff are wonderful and very helpful. They make you feel like you have known them forever and are so easy to talk to. At no time did I ever feel rushed by any of them.
I am now 13 days post op and all I can say is Dr Jake Lim is a miracle worker!!! His work is absolutely amazing. He is very thorough with his care and Dr Lim saw me almost every day I was in hospital (8days) or if he could not get in due to other commitments he still rang the nurses to see how I was.
I feel that all along Dr Lim had my best interest at heart and he was so reassuring and made me feel that I was making the right decision.
I would recommend Dr Lim to anyone who is considering having the same procedures as I had or any other procedures. He is very professional yet caring and friendly and I felt I could trust him explicitly. I have had no post op problems at all and am home resting nicely.
All I can say is a big thank you to Dr Lim and his staff for changing my life forever. It has been an amazing journey made easier by a fantastic Doctor and staff and even though I have a way to go I couldn't be happier with my results!

Thanks Cupkate! It was almost 12 months to the day I had my first consult with Dr Lim and then when I finally booked my date it was 11weeks till surgery. It definitely creeps up on you! Just make sure you plan your recovery just as well. I actually stayed in hospital for 8days as my doctor was very particular about drains and even though I was able to get up and shower etc it was still good to know I had the wonderful nurses at Westmead Private to look after me. I think my hubby was a bit relieved too. But recovery is just as important! Good luck believe me it is worth it!

My dr thinks about 5 days in hospital ( macquarie university hospital). Im happy with that. Best to have help at hand. And drugs!! Was yr pain better than u expected? I need to have a post- op 10th dec. I am a bit worried 315cc boobs will look too big! Lol. We will see. Did u have stretch marks and are they gone? Is the swelling bad in everyday clothes?

That sounds right for your hospital. Originally it was going to be the 5 days but my drains were still pumping out too much so he wanted me to have them under 30ml each. They finally came down to 20/20 on 8 th day. He did mention briefly I could go home but better I wasn't keen just in case something went wrong! I must admit that the drain sites were more painful that the rest lol! My pain was well controlled. For the first 2 or 3 days I used a PCA (or something like that) that you press for pain relief. And after that I used Endone and paracetamol for 2 days then just paracetamol. For the last.2 days in hospital I didn't need anything. On e the drains were out I felt heaps better but I am taking it very easy at home. The tightness is probably the most annoying at the moment but it's getting better. I just have to keep reminding myself to stand straight. Oh and the doctor was keen to get me up and walking a fees days after surgery so that helps. I only had a breast lift as I had the boobs there they were just very saggy!!! To look at them now I am over the moon! They are quite perky!!! I am really excited for you. I did have stretch marks but they are now below my BB instead of half way up to my boobs!! I am not too worried though, at my age I don't think I will be wearing a bikini any time soon! Lol. My swelling is pretty good. At night it feels I little tight but I have to wear my binder really tight and All the time at this stage. The binder will help keep the fluid at bay which is what you need. Also REST is very important. Just about all my clothes are too big now so I am living in harem pants and t-shirts!!!! Am not confident yet to wear anything tight around my belly. Just want to take it slowly. It is so nice though to see a flat tummy!!! I strongly recommend you get long singlet tops to wear under your binder. It will stop any rubbing and make it comfortable.

Beautiful! Do you have any tips for others about to go through these procedures?

Thanks Angiemcc by reading many stories on this site I realised that things are done a bit differently in Australia! I take my hat off to those who are up and about heading home straight after their surgery! Here in AUS we stay in hospital for a few days so I guess it's a bit different for us Aussies lol. I went into this just hoping to finally put and end to my weight loss journey. I had been overweight most of my life and never could get rid of the dreaded apron. It wasn't until Dr Lim told me that no matter how much more weight I lose or exercise I do that apron will always be there! It was such a huge relief to know that. Also I didn't mention that I have had 2 c- sections and a total hysterectomy all horizontal scars so I know what pain is lol. I can't emphasis enough though how important it is to find a doctor who you trust and have confidence in and who makes you feel comfortable. These procedures are life changing. You want the best and don't settle for anything less. You only want to have to do this once!! Also listen to and do what they say. Don't try and rush your recovery. I have taken 6 weeks off work so I can be fully recovered and spend a bit of time with family. Everybody deals with pain and everyone's experiences are different but I guess I just went into surgery with an open mind on what to expect and I didn't fret over things that were out of my control. I just deal with things as I go along or if there is a problem I have a wonderful Doctor to talk to!!!
