I am just so grateful to Dr. Farkas, Dr. Breslow...

I am just so grateful to Dr. Farkas, Dr. Breslow and everyone at The Breslow Center for making me feel complete again! Their skill, knowledge, kindness and attention to detail is incredible and I could not be happier with the results!

When I first walked into The Breslow Center I had just finished 5 months of chemotherapy and was not too sure of what lay ahead. I had several recommendations for plastic surgeons, but Dr. Breslow and Dr. Farkas' names just kept coming up over and over. One of my friends had been a patient a year before and had nothing but glowing reviews for them and their work. So I made my appointment. And I will be forever thankful that I did!

I honestly think that you just know instinctively when something is right for you, when it's going to work.
And that's exactly how I felt the minute I walked into that office. To start with, the staff is amazing. They are warm and friendly and attentive and nothing is ever a problem. There is always someone to get in touch with and they respond quickly, which is worth it's weight in gold!

Now onto the facilities. They are completely up to date and absolutely spotless.

As for Dr. Breslow and Dr. Farkas, they are both absolutely outstanding. Upon meeting both of them, I just knew that this was the place for me. They were completely up to speed on my situation, and listened carefully while my husband and I expressed our wishes and concerns. And then they went over their game plan, and I was sold. They are smart, thoughtful, incredibly sensitive to the situation and so skilled.
And calm and confident, which was very much appreciated at that point.

I had a mastectomy of my left breast in December 18, 2013. Both Dr. Breslow and Dr. Farkas performed the surgery along with my breast surgeon. During that same surgery, I had a breast reduction on my right breast. I had several drains and the expander put in at that point. On December 26th, I had (my first ever) allergic reaction to penicillin. I broke out in hives that spread like wildfire. Here it was the morning after Christmas and I was calling their office. The hives were everywhere including the surgical sites. The office called back immediately and Dr. Farkas saw me first thing. They knew at once that it was an allergic reaction and his office even made an emergency appointment with the dermatologist for me, after switching my antibiotic. One crisis averted.

After that I had follow ups to remove the drains, check on the healing process, and fill the expander prior to the start of radiation. And dealing with this group continued to be an absolute pleasure. At that point it's difficult to imagine what the finished results will be, you still feel very much like a work in progress. But both the breast surgeon and the oncologist knew that they had done a wonderful job and they see this constantly.

My next surgery was on February 23, 2015. I had opted for a DIEP flap, using my own tissue to rebuild the breast, rather than an implant. I knew that this was going to be very extensive, detailed and time consuming surgery. Again, Dr. Farkas and Breslow worked as a team and did an amazing job. I'm not sure who did what, but they were fantastic. I spent a few hours in recovery and a day and a half in ICU.
I felt really good and probably could have gone home at that point, but decided to spend another day in the hospital just to be sure. It all worked out well and I got a tummy tuck to boot!

There were a few issues along the way with the healing process, but again the staff and the Doctor's were just so responsive. Nothing was ever a problem and everything was handling quickly and with the best care imaginable.

My final procedure was on May 29, 2015. It was where they balanced out the breasts and removed the skin paddle from the DIEP flap. They also rebuilt the nipple at that point, saving me an additional procedure later on. Additionally, they did a breast lift on the right side to make them match. It was done first thing in the morning and I was home by 1 in the afternoon. You can't ask for much more than that.

Again, the follow up care has been great. Now that the end is in sight (I just have to get a 3-D nipple tattoo which is scheduled for this coming September), I can honestly say that the process with the Breslow Center was flawless. They are incredible and I am just so pleased that I chose them.

Dr. Farkas is incredible! He is knowledgeable, skilled, exacting, caring, kind and compassionate and really one heck of a nice guy! I've never been made to feel as if any request is too trivial or any question too silly. I have been a patient for over 2 years and 3 surgeries and he has consistently delivered. I could not possibly be more pleased with the results or the way that I have been treated. He has helped me take what was a very difficult situation and turn it around. I feel complete and in some ways even better than I did prior to the surgeries. I can't thank him enough or recommend him more highly. He is excellent!
