Hi! You've all inspired me to write about my journey. I was bigger breasted my entire life since I was teenager.. about a size C/D.. after I had my second child 6.5 years ago my breasts shrunk to a small B with a lot of saggy skin. Dr. Elliot Heller didn't push a lift so we just did an implant. They were an o-k job. Still sagged while the implant sat up top. I was a size D.. I have put on some weight since then and am. Or a double D... not only was I not happy with them then but now even more. Bottom line is we are women and our bodies change over the years.. For the last year or so I've absolutely hated my implants. They're heavy, they hurt my back, shoulders and neck... I have tmj issues so it adds stress to it. I feel like it's hard to breathe. I'm a fitness instructor and jumping around with them is extremely difficult and painful. I went to 3 consultations these past 2 months and researched heavily on what I wanted to do. 2 doctors pushed a smaller implant.. one doc said I would even look deflated! Hated that word.. felt very discourage that I would look funny and my breasts would look ugly if I just did a lift no smaller implant. I felt like these doctors were not "hearing" me.. hearing what I wanted, what I felt, how I hated them so much. Then I went to another doctor.. dr. Frank Ferraro in NJ... he listened to me! He automatically took in what I had to say and told me my expectations are realistic.. that of course I won't have the fullness up top from an implant but it still will look and feel better and I will be much happier. Thank G0d.. some hope! I am 3.5 weeks away from surgery and nervous but excited at the same time. Can't wait to feel better again

I'm so excited… And so nervous… The time is almost here… I will have to take three weeks off of work as per Dr. Ferraro… I am a fitness instructor so exercising has to wait... wondering if I will be able to walk and just be a mom to my kids for the first few days… Can anyone give me some feedback on how quick they were up and around doing basic things I just preparing a sandwich for their kids or walking to the door to get the mail?

I am also in the same boat and wanting to explant due to other reasons than yours. But my implants have made me ill. I originally had went to Dr. Ferraro as well post op however ended up with a surgeon to place my implants at a location closer to me. Can you post photos after your surgery and how you heal? I actually really like Dr. Frank Ferraro and will consider him for my explant and lift.

Of course yes I'll post... I actually didn't mention that I believe mine made me different too.. I've gotten more sensitive.. sick more often... memory loss, tired more often.. etc.. sometimes I feel like I'm nuts even saying it but I hear about it often... hope you feel better

Thank you, I have my first sets of appointments this coming January and I am curious to find out what doctors will say about my illness due to implants. I also had 2 kids and placed the implant with no lift but they are heavy for me as I am petite. I have the neck, back and shoulder pains as well. I will be following your posts with your surgery. I really have no other support that is why joined this page. Good luck with your surgery I am excited for you :)

I understand and I'm not sure exactly what illness you have but I do believe it can cause illnesses and I too didn't have a lift with mine initially.. so heavy and I'm not petite lol. Thanks so much.. I joined for the same reason... it's nice to see other people who feel the same and can relate. :)

It was about 72 hours for me before I felt okay to be up and about. Per my doctor I was only allowed to shuffle around the house slowly and not lift more than 5 lbs for the first few weeks. It was hard to sit still but the compression bra was a constant reminder that I needed to take it easy. I think on day 13 I made it out to tj maxx to look for a sports bra and that was wonderful. I too work out daily with weights and I teach yoga. I was allowed to resume non impact exercise at 3 weeks with full restriction lifted at 5 weeks. You have to just listen to your body. For me - I was down for a solid 36 hours with swelling, pain and residual yuck feeling from the general anesthesia. All so worth it though. You'll feel so good on the other side! Burpees will be so easy - you just might jump and hit the ceiling (smiles). Hugs!

2nd Consult 1 week 1 day before surgery (explant and lift)

Hi all, went for my second consultation today... 8 days away from surgery!
Dr. Ferraro is awesome so far.. never met a doctor that really listens and hears what a patient is saying! He understands my goals and is positive in making them happen.
His office takes care credit which is super helpful when you want a procedure like this done and can't afford it right away.
We sat and discussed all my questions and concerns...
There will be an anchor looking scar
No tissue will be removed
He will first remove implant then do the lift
The stitches are dissolvable
There most probably will not be drains but if need be he will change his mind at the time and place them
He gave me the prescriptions for post surgery care
Blood test was done in the same building next door (very convenient)
Before pictures were taken
Special post care bra was ordered
Payment was made
Super nervous I know that day I'll be hyperventilating lol but I'm so excited. ????????????????
